Saturday 18 October - Air Canada Center, Toronto

From Michael:
I was at both shows Saturday and Sunday. Both shows I was front row at the catwalk. During Give It 2 Me Madonna brought me the mic and I said, 'Ya! No one's gonna stop me now! I LOVE YOU MADONNA!'....and then Madonna laughs and says, 'Those aren't the words to the song!'
I thought the shows were the two best nights of my life! The first night I held hands with my brother in the front row for the first time, and the second night, I sang with her! It was life-changing. I LOVE YOU MADONNA!

From Michael F:
I saw the Saturday night show in Toronto, which was my fourth show of the tour. It was the most amazing night of my life, and I am not just saying that! I at long last, I had my Madonna moment. Not only did I have front row seats at last Saturday's show in Toronto but Monte, her guitar player, handed me one of his guitar picks. And during the last song, Madonna came straight over to me and put her microphone in my face and I sang 'Give it 2 me. Yea. No one's gonna show us how.' Oh, yeah, and then I reached up and grabbed her (sweaty, muscular) arm.
It may have taken 22 years and 36 concerts, but I have to admit it was worth every moment - and yes, every penny! This was #4 of a total of 10 for me on this tour, and I have to admit that I don't know how anything could ever top that night!

Sunday 19 October - Air Canada Centre, Toronto

From Corey:
On Sunday night, Madonna was on fire. Her voice was immaculte and her dancing without flaw. She never missed a beat and it was an experience that will never be forgotten. My only complaint is that it was over too soon, before I knew it. A dedicated Madonna fan, such as myself, has only become a bigger fan after Sunday night.

From Curtis:
I have been a die-hard Madonna fan since Material Girl came out and I was obsessed for years with Blond Ambition and Girlie Show Tours, and needless to say I never dreamed I would attend a Madonna show. Well, I started to dream of it this year. I am one of those who believe The Confessions Tour to be the absolute pinnacle of Madonna's performing career and I solemly promised myself to do whatever I could to see Madonna live.
My bestest friends and I purchased three tickets to Sticky and Sweet live in Toronto back in May and even though the shows (two of them) sold out in 7 minutes, WE GOT THREE TICKETS FOR OCTOBER 19, 2008!
Drove from Winnipeg, Manitoba all the way to Toronto, a 30+ hour drive but oh God, so worth it.
My thoughts? No, it was no Confessions Tour, but Madonna never claimed that this outing was Confessions Tour part two, this was the Sticky & Sweet Tour for Hard Candy, which is completely different from Confessions On A Dance Floor, and I for one am so glad. Why, at this point in her life, should she put out the same music that she's already done? So, I knew that this tour would be different.
It is, but follows the same structure of her last three tours. Four acts, all different and allowing Madonna to express more than she ever has before.
We got to the venue at almost 7:30. The Air Canada Centre was buzzing with Madonna excitement, what with the overwhelmingly positive reviews of the previous night's performance, her first stop for this tour in Canada. We quickly got a program, and proceeded to the merchandise section. Talk about pricey! We got the track suit top, black t-shirt, two posters, two Confessions books (Guy Oseary's) and an additional program for a total of two. I mean, it's a once-in-a-lifetime event, right? Would have got more, but there was such a frenzy and we still had to find our seats.
I was astonished with our seats, section 104 row 27. We had awesome seats with a fantastic all-encompassing view of the stage. At approx 8:37 the house lights went down, and I got a chill as the video screens started the show. I was so surprised as I know Madonna really enjoys making her audiences wait, and I was prepared for that, but with the arenal 90% full, the show started.
Within minutes, all seats were full and we were in the CANDY SHOP! Opening video was genius, not too dramatic, which gave a hint at the night. Nothing too preachy, just a raw Madonna performance while at the top of her game. Beat Goes On was perfect to keep the energy up. I enjoyed Vogue very much and we were rolling along. I loved the Die Another Day interlude, what a beautiful video! Madonna looked so HARD in it, and the staging with the boxers in the ring was just what this video performance needed. I was not all that impressed with Human Nature and virtual Britney.
Then came Into The Groove with the fantastic Keith Haring backdrops and I got such a kick of seeing Madonna on her stripper pole while gliding across her stage. She looked like she was having a blast and she had the biggest smile while skipping and executing the Double Dutch segment. She's Not Me was just all-out classic Madonna, with the attitude, middle finger and possession dance she likes to do, after strangling and kissing one of the 'wanna-be's'.
When we got about half way through, thunder and rain washed across the entire room and elements of Here Comes the Rain Again (maybe Annie's gift to Madonna for guesting on SING) were heard with beautiful water imagery was playing on the screens. The center stage at the end of the catwalk came alive as Madonna rose wrapped in her cloak atop a piano. Devil Wouldn't Recognize You was so moving and absolutely beautiful, after which we were in the gypsy section of the show. I almost cried when she sang You Must Love Me. I absolutely love how Madonna has made Evita songs her own, and her performance was top shelf.
I noticed early on that she was using the two circular screens that would lower and raise to the smaller satellite stage in almost the same way she used the Swarovski Disco Ball on her last tour. And those two screens were also transparent. I have to say that I wonder what Madonna sees when she is inside the screens performing 'Devil'. Definitely the show-stopper of the evening.
I didn't realize that Ray Of Light was going to be performed. Not my favourite song, and I was surpised how similar it was to the Confessions version, but I did enjoy it nonetheless. She has become quite the solid guitar player.
The end was coming and the version of Like A Prayer was KICK-ASS GLORIOUS! What a religious event that song was and never did I think it could be turned into such a pumping anthem, but it worked perfectly. I was so caught up in the show, that until 4 Minutes started, I had completely forgot that it was part of the show!
I have kept myself spolier-free and didn't know too much about the show, but I did know that Give It 2 Me would close it, so I was trying to enjoy it as much as possible. I do believe that the audience would like to hear the album version, I didn't care too much for the bass line during the verses, but it still absolutely ROCKED! Then it was GAME OVER and the house lights went on. This was her last show in Toronto, so my guess is because she wanted to leave for Montreal ASAP, was the reason for the surprising early start.
At the end of the day, it was the best. Everything I dreamed of and then some more! Thanks Madonna, and thanks to Mark for getting us there and for all support! Also, thanks Jeff for getting the tickets!

From Gianpaolo:
I went yesterday to the show in Toronto. The show started at 8:30PM not at 9:30PM as Saturday! We were shocked that it started so soon the ACC was not even full at the time the light went off and in a matter of 10 to 15 minutes you could see everybody running to their seats. It was hilarious but then it was all packed!
I loved the show, even though Confessions was better it is hard to do something better that that! Overall the show was nice, the opening could have been more elaborate, it was too simple for a Madonna's show. However, we kept jumping and dancing all night. You Must Love Me, made me cry and a lot of people around me felt the same, it was so beautiful and the Like A Prayer, Ray Of Light, Give It 2 Me were the BEST remixes ever! I am still excited!

From Mark:
Myself and my best friend Curtis travelled from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada by van to see Madonna at the Air Canada Center on Oct 19, 2008.
We endured a 33 hour drive with no complications on the way there. We were seated in section 104, which was actually very good seating, not too far from the stage and not too high in the stands.
We got our tickets online back on the day they went on sale and have waited in anticipation to see this tour, which was the first ever for both of us. We did not read any reviews and did our best not to be spoiled before the event. We were both in AWE at the unbelievable background graphics, and the concert was not a concert it was a SHOW of a LIFETIME, which we shared together and will hold dear to eternity.
Thanks MADONNA for bringing us the show of our lifetime and bringing us even closer together.

From Tom:
Hi all, I went to our Queen's second show in Toronto last night and I am still basking in the afterglow! I was about 8 ft (2.4m) away from Madonna! The show was amazing to say the least. Avril Lavigne was sitting right in front of the catwalk (but who cares!).
Before I report to you guys how good it was, I want to say the not-so-good bits first. (I love Madonna as much as everyone). The entire show was so tightly choroegraphed - everything was right on cue. I found it to be a bit 'business-like'. Not a lot of artistic thoughts were put into the video presentations (unlike Confessions tour), and most of all, she didn't interact with the audience at all. But all can be forgiven and improved!
Now the good parts! The 'requested song' was....are you ready?....DRESS YOU UP! I know you guys are so jealous reading this. LOL. Everybody was singing along. It was the highlight for me. Before she sang Miles Away, she said, 'I am lonely. I need company.' At the end when she gave the mic to an audience member to sing 'Give It 2 Me', the guy screamed 'I love you, Madonna' right into the mic. It was so fun. I didn't think I was gonna like the Hung Up version, but to my surprise, it worked really well and I loved it!
I had so much fun and was sweating like crazy from jumping up and down and screaming! I gave the show 90/100.
