Thursday 18 December - Morumbi Stadium, Sao Paulo
From Rodrigo:
It’s mid-afternoon on Thursday when M and crew leave Copacabana Palace Hotel heading straight to São Paulo’s Morumbi Stadium, venue to her last Sticky & Sweet Tour 3 shows. Gates are open late again, no rain shows up, She has a rehearsal again. She goes onstage 2 hours later than the announced time. So, at 10 PM the Sticky & Sweet tour rocks São Paulo, - me and my wife included – for sure – for its first time.
Madonna reigns superbly and falls for the crowd instantly. Quick changes she screams 'Puta' and not bitch in 'She’s Not Me' which is what the first one really stands for in Portuguese. During her monologue again the star claims she’ll get used to Brazilian people warmth and our tenderness. She’s said São Paulo has been her best crowd in 25 years in the music business. The crowd went wild with this.
The requested song has been 'Like A Virgin' again. Funny part because Madonna had trouble pronunciating the guy’s name – Márcio (mar-see-ow) she said it was too damn hard and then she asked our help to sing it with her and so we did. She also played mimicking alligators with her hands with her back to the audience and with the lighting shadows on stage. The Brazilian soccer team tee is on again and Madonna keeps enthralled by the 18th December show public. She tells her goodbyes and good nights vanishing at the 'Game Over' cylinder screen.
Saturday 20 December - Morumbi Stadium, Sao Paulo
From Rodrigo:
Show starts at 9h30. The gig is packed. Wild crowd, Madonna has no differences for the show. Full costumes this time. No treats for the crowd. 'Dress You Up' by request and the Brazilian flag is beared by some dancers. And that was it.
Sunday 21 December - Morumbi Stadium, Sao Paulo
From Rodrigo:
The game has really been over. DJ Paul Oakenfold did his boring set as so he did throughout the South American leg of the tour. He did not entertain the crowd at all. Due to stage problems the show has a 2 hours and ten minutes delay. There were footages but not of the show, possibly for a documentary or even a DVD bonus material. One LED wasn’t working on the cylinder screen. Minor setback for such an spectacle.
Madonna was r-e-a-l-l-y happy. The crowd amazed her. Astonishing last show. In 'You Must Love' she said there could not have been another better place to wrap-up her tour. She thanked São Paulo endlessly and the crowd roared fiercefully and that brought tears to her eyes. She said that was her last show too many times, and thanked her entourage for working so hard with her, she was sad it had ended, but quite happy it finished in no better place like Brazil.
As it was in Cardiff on August 23rd, so it was in the last show: 'Express Yourself' for request. M finishes her last S&S tour very thrilled.
