Wednesday 10 December - Estadio Nacional, Santiago
From Roldolfo:
Well, and about the show: It begins around 21:35, just only 5 minutes late that been accorded. The crowd being crazy and euphoric since he sang her first song 'Candy Shop'....and the most of been there, have waiting for her about 24 years! (A long time).
Personally, the most that I like was she sang Vogue with no playback....this is the first concert when she didn't use it for that great and iconic song! XD
The best act was next: Old School....with too many colours, songs very well selected and very well performed....and again the crowd was so frenetic when she kissed her dancers in 'She's Not Me'. Music sounds better than ever.
Then comes 'Gypsy': La Isla Bonita was the best! And so many of us cried with 'You Must Love Me'. And finally: 'Rave', very rocky.....oohh my God: I love the new version of Like A Prayer, simply the best that I've ever heard!
And then comes the request song....it was Holiday: Madonna said that we need to remind her of the lyrics....and the part that I love the most was when she said: 'Left side is better' (I was in the left side on the concert and really sing very strong....LOL).
So, the show finish after Give It 2 Me, the crowd couldn't believe it, and I couldn't believe it too!
I saw Madonna live after a very long time to wait for her!
SHE IS AN AMAZING SINGER AND AN AMAZING PERFORMER LIVE!
From Sebastian:
This show on December 10th was actually a piece of history for all the fans in this thin and long country called Chile. Because it was the first time she was performing here. Yes, the first time ever. So this concert was very special in her Latin American leg of the tour, the only country she hadn't been before.
She had them on her feet even before she screamed to this effervescent crowd 'Hello SANTIAGO!'. There was something magical in the air that night, Madonna was in an excellent mood, very smiley and warm towards her fans, who couldn't help showing her heaps of love demonstrations all through the night. And she talked a lot to them.
Before she finished singing 'You Must Love Me' she stopped for the final verse (You must love....) so she asks: WHO? You must love WHO? And instantly 70.000 people started singing 'IDOLA, IDOLA!'. An appelative that Chileans use not in the sense of idolatrizing someone but in a way that means YOU ROCK LIKE NO ONE ELSE DOES! For more than 2 minutes she remained in silence watching this unique moment and asked one of the fans in the front what it meant. She LOVED it. During the next concert she asked the fans....'IDOLA? Come on guys!'
The resquested songs were HOLIDAY on the first show and SORRY on the final show.
Reports on every news, magazines, and the press in general spared no praises. The best and most awaited performance in 25 years. She's the queen....As simple as that. And she did it, once again!
'Buenas noches Santiago! Muchas gracias!'
Thursday 11 December - Estadio Nacional, Santiago
From Freddy:
Madonna was amazing in both concerts in Santiago, 10 and 11 December, she really enjoyed with us.
She began an unexpected rehearsal or soundcheck before the real show at night (11 Dec), so the first fans that entered at 17:00 h to the National Stadium saw her in sportwear singing Candy Shop with all the S&S crew, Nobody could believe what happens, she got closer to the audience and joked, saying 'that's all the show, thank you....'
I have no words to describe this, in less than a second she got down from runway among bodyguards and with the mic front of us requested to sing along with her Into The Groove.
I think she gave us this gift as a result of our great welcome in the first night, where at the end of You Must Love Me all of us screamed 'Idola, Idola' (Idol), she didn't understand what we were saying, then we told her in English! 'Idol, Idol!' she was really EFFECTED and surprising to each of the audience she said 'Yo soy muy caliente' trying to thank for our warm-hearted WELCOME. In the second night she said 'Idola' at the beginning of request section and people got crazy.
I my own opinion she will do something with this word (Idola), using it in a perfume's name, song and so on.
Requested songs: 10 December: Holiday - 11 December: Sorry
I'm breathless!
From Koke:
I went to both concerts 1st and 2nd row respectively, and they were awesome! In the first one, when we were waiting for the show to begin, some dancers were taking pictures, and Guy (Manager) was also taking some pictures and talking with the public.
When she was singing Ray Of Light, she forgot some of the lyrics, but it didn't care! She was incredible on stage. When she was singing 'You Must Love Me', the audience started to scream 'Idola', and she didn't understand what we were saying, and she was asking her musicians: 'What are they saying?', and then we started to say it in English: 'Idol!, Idol!', but she was still confused, at the end she came out of the stage without understanding what we were saying.
In the second show, when we entered to the stadium, there were some people on stage, and we were wondering what they were doing, and suddenly a little woman in shorts with sunglasses and a black hat started to talk and sing, IT was HER! She was rehearsing with her dancers! She rehearsed Candy Shop, Human Nature, You Must Love Me, Music, Into The Groove, and when she was singing ITG, she went down the catwalk and started to sing with the audience, she was singing and having fun with them about 5 minutes.
There were some cameras filming all the rehearsal, and today I was reading a local newspaper, and they said that this would be included on the documentary.
When the second show began, she looked very happy with a big smile, and the request song was Sorry, it was amazing, the whole stadium sang it loudly, we (including her) almost sang it completely. In one part of the show, the audience started to scream 'Idola' again, and this time she started to say 'Idola' with us, lately she asked us to say 'Idola' again, I think she liked that word LOL.
The first show was great, but the second was the greatest in my opinion, she felt more confident with this new audience.
It was an unforgettable experience, I think she really likes Chilean people. Hope she comes back again someday.
From Matias:
Some friends went the second date (December 11th) and they had an amazing surprise when they arrived at the stadium around 5 pm....Madonna was rehearsing!
She was rehearsing Music, then Miles Away and You Must Love Me....with a guy holding a big umbrella to cover her from the sun....here it's almost summer....32ºC!
She was wearing big shorts, black glasses. My friends told me she was very friendly, she told them, 'See you tonight', and then.....she went DOWN to Cancha VIP, and hang out with some fans for 5 minutes! Everybody was crazy! Though it was not that very spontaneous, they were filming it, of course it might be for her DVD but anyways, it was an unforgetable experience. I really wished to have bought tickets for the second concert! GGRRRR! LOL!
