Thursday 20 November - Wachovia Center, Philadelphia

From Anthony:
Last night in philadelphia was amazing! This was my first Madonna show and it was worth every penny, the view was great, we sat in section 210A, row 4 and had a clear shot of all the screens and everything that was going on.
She opened the show around 9:45 and played till 11:20, she was very energetic and seemed happy to be in Philly. The song requested was 'Dress You Up', I would have picked 'Gone'. But it was fun to hear everyone sing. She broke singing at one point and was laughing at the guy in the front row that requested it, haha it was so funny she said something like 'work out more before you wear a shirt like that'. She stuck her middle finger up a couple times and smiled a lot.
The real high points of the show I would have to say were; her entrance, the dancing in 'Vogue', the 'Die Another Day' video, 'Into The Groove', 'Music', 'Rain' video, her voice was so ambient in 'You Must Love Me', the 'Get Stupid' montage, 'Like A Prayer' and 'Ray Of Light' was awesome and had so much energy, great mix, and I think 'Hung Up' worked very well.
I'm not a fan of 'Spanish Lesson' or 'La Isla Bonita' but the way she play them last night was great and sounds so much better live. I thought she did a job well done every song was well played and I can't wait for the next one!

From Bob:
Madonna in Philly was incredible. Madonna looked fabulous and very happy. The crowd was great! Everybody stood and sang along and danced to all of the songs. She even thanked us for our great enthusiasm.
The request song was Dress You Up. Madonna warned the man who requested it not to ask her to sing a song that she didn't like. She seemed quite pleased with the request, and everybody in the place knew all the words.
During the She's Not Me segment Madonna grabbed the bride version of herself and gave her a long kiss! The crowd went crazy! Madonna's energy was sky high, and the crowd responded with equal energy. She laughed with her dancers and they all appeared to be having a great time.
When we got back to our hotel, the dancers were getting off of a bus and were staying at the same hotel as us. We rode the elevator with four of them and told them that they were awesome. They thanked us for the compliment and said 'I guess we did our job'. They seemed very happy to be acknowledged by us, and were not at all pretentious.
It was a great night and I'm still coming down from the rush two days later. I LOVE MADONNA!

From Erik:
I was able to score awesome seats to the Philly show 4 hours before showtime - 4th row, right up against the catwalk! It was a dream come true!
The show was awesome, as always, Madonna looked like she was having fun. From that close up, I could see her interacting with her dancers better - she stuck her tongue out at them at one point! The dancers were thrilled to be on stage, you could tell, because every time they walked past me, they were smiling and trying to get the crowd cheering! Madonna was also sporting a large band aid on her right leg, but nothing slowed her down!
She picked a guy in the front row named Adam (she called him 'the first man') to request a song and I was thrilled he picked 'Dress You Up'! I was about 4 people away from the mic when she came over to our side for us to sing along! A woman next to the front stage at the end of the catwalk was holding a sign that read 'Guys suck, marry me instead'. I was happy to hear Philly cheer for Obama's image at the end of the 'Get Stupid' video montage.
I was a little disappointed in the crowd, especially in my section - I mean we were the closest to the stage and some people just stood there! I was jumping up and down so much that my calves still hurt! What a great time! Thanks, Madonna and company for entertaining me so - I will never forget that concert!

From Esteban:
You can't imagine how excited I was to see Madonna in concert! I flew from Costa Rica just to see her singing her songs live. I was waiting for about 4 months since I bought the ticket and when I was in the Wachovia Center I was on shock when I realized how close I was from the stage. I bought a floor ticket but I never expected to be so close to her. (4 row in front of the catwalk). I must tell you that she is amazing and powerful moving on the stage. The lights, sounds, outfits and dancers were amazing.
I was out of my mind when she started to sing Spanish lessons and she asked: Habla Espanol? I said too loud in my mother tongue 'si'. My second highest point of that night was when she sang 'You Must Love Me' at that point I get lost completely and almost cry. Definitively that night was a dream come true to me....it was more than amazing. When I left the arena and I was in the parking lot I still was feeling the warm emotions that I felt inside of the arena that I never realized the freezing weather outside that I am not use to feel in my country.

From Josh:
Josh here- just got out of the Madonna concert at the Wachovia Center here in Philly! I had floor seats row 2 - section 1.
Okay my review: 7 out of 10
First thing - she usually pays most attention to this side of the stage howvere on this tour - almost none!
I got two good looks at her and for more than half the concert I was looking at her back.
The M's normally on the side of the stage were not there - hmmm.
Her voice sounded pretty good - I'm always amazed that she sounds like a little girl.
She seemed to be really enjoying herself.
In no way was this a sold out crowd - unless a few hundred couldnt find gas money!
I love Madonna - I'd been looking forward to this night for a long time - but it didn't live up to all my expectations! Don't get me wrong - she is incredible and there will never be another Madonna!
I guess I was just disappointed bc I didnt get a hand slap, or eye contact or even to sing into the mic. For parts of the concert I felt like I wasnt even there! I wore bright colors and was the brightest dressed person around and I don't think she even looked at me once.

From Lou:
The Madonna concert in Philadelphia was AWESOME as usual. She was about 1 hour and 25 minutes late. She did sing the entire 2 hours. I've seen her 3 times and I have to say, this is the first time that she seemed so happy and smiled the entire night.
Of course, in the opener, as soon as that turntable turns and you get the first glimpse of her, the audience goes absoultely nuts. The request song was given by a man in the front named Adam. She made a comment about Adam (the name) being the first man. She did the request song as Dress You Up.
There were 2 guys in the front in muscle tank tops. One being a bigger build than the other. She did say to one of them, you need to work out a bit more if you are going to try to wear a shirt like that. She also made the audience keep time by clapping and made the drummer come out from behind the drums and introduced him and said that he was from Philadelphia. She was so friendly and got into the crowd by winking and pointing.
She did look like she slipped a little out on the catwalk during the gypsy section but recovered gracefully. A totally amazing concert.

From Maggie:
This was the first concert I have been to and she was the perfect choice to make my first. I live in Pittsburgh and I flew over to Philadelphia with my uncle to see her perform. She didn't come out until an hour and a half had passed, but that was expected. It just built up the hype even more - I know I was more than excited.
Madonna really is absolutely amazing in concert! I cannot get over how great she looks and how energetic she was - she never stopped! For the request she sang 'Dress You Up' which was great! I hope she goes on tour again sometime in the future, and I can say I would be willing to pay for a floor seat next time.
