Sunday 16 November - Minute Maid Arena, Houston
From Griffin:
Madonna was flawless during this show!
Timbaland was in the audience. I got to take a picture of him.
Madonna was suppose to come out on stage at 7:30, but ended up coming out at 9:30. I did not mind the wait.
The crowd went wild when Madonna did 'Borderline' and 'You Must Love Me'!
I screamed out 'I Love You Madonna!' in the Middle of the show and she said 'I Love You Guys To!'
Madonna had said that she had never been to Houston before, but she has.
Me and my friend looked at each other and said yes she has. I soon as she said that she said 'I am GLAD I came!' And her lead guitarist is from Texas!
During the request section, a guy named Tommy in the from row requested 'Secret'! During it she forget one little part in the song. At the end of the song she said 'I forgot about Secret, so thank you for reminding me'.
I will never forget how amazing she is. I LOVE YOU MADONNA!
From Kristi:
I wanted to mention to you my sad experience in Houston. I live in OKC and me and two of my friends flew to Houston to see Madonna in concert this weekend. I/we have looked forward to this since I can remember.
However, it was the worst experience of my life. We were in our seat and the minute Madonna went on all three of us jumped up and started dancing and having a blast! One minute into the song I was tapped on the shoulder and this lady asked if we would sit down and stop dancing because she could not see.
As one can imagine, I turned around and said 'I paid for a $300 plane ticket, $200 a night hotel, and a $250 concert ticket so the chances of me sitting down one time to see Madonna in concert is non-existent!'
So....ten minutes into the show as Madonna is jumping rope on stage. I have a police officer come over to me and ask if he can speak with me. (I'M NOT KIDDING). I went out in a hall and he asked if I would sit down so the three middle aged people behind me could see and I said 'ABSOLUTELY NOT, YOU CAN'T MAKE ME SET AT A MADONNA CONCERT!' and now I'm pissed because I am missing the concert. He said fine but please do not turn around and say anything to the people behind me and I agreed.
Needless to say I have 3 security people ask us to sit down, while everyone around me and everyone in the place was standing up. The security guard told me that we would be kicked out if we chose to keep watching the concert standing up. I started bawling. For one, I have missed major parts of the show at this point, I cant dance and enjoy myself and I am now being forced to sit down or me and my friends would be kicked out. I ran out crying and left my seat and went and stood in the hall just so I could at least hear the sound without further interruptions.
I am devastated and I want everyone to know MINUTE MAID PARK SUCKS! I love Madonna and have looked so forward to this and this was my experience with it. I feel robbed and in a daze that the one thing I have looked forward to for so long turned out like this. It makes me sick.
I wish I could have experienced what I had looked forward to for so long. The security guards at Minute Maid are idiots and what goes around comes around. IM SO SAD!
I hope you post my experience with this shit of a facility! I hope more people post their Houston experience so I can see what else I could have possibly missed.
From Stephen:
I will never forget Sunday night - seeing Madonna live for the first time. She was inc(RED)ible! The arena (which is where our Astros baseball team plays) was packed; we sat behind home plate and the stage was in centerfield. Great view of the stage and her and the dancers. She smiled a lot and said 'I'm glad I came to Texas.' The request song was 'Secret' and the crowd went wild.
Highlights for me were 'You Must Love Me' where her voice was flawless; 'Ray Of Light', 'Like A Prayer' - I guess every song. 'Miles Away' was, of course, my favorite! She even pointed out that one of her guitar players was from Texas; she said he helped her learn how to play guitar. By the way, she's awesome on the guitar; it seems to be her niche. For being gone from Texas for the past 18 years, she deserves to 'take a bow' for rockin' the house with amazing energy and style in America's Spacecity! Thanks Madonna!
