Saturday 27 September - Olympic Stadium, Athens
From Alex:
Yesterday's show in Athens was absolutely amazing. The stadium was choke full and the crowd ecstatically welcomed a very happy Madonna who gave a tremendous show. Very steady vocally, with powerful choreographies and literally awesome video interludes, she gave us a night to remember.
This show might be simpler than the Confessions tour (no 1 million discoballs), but I really think that it's very demanding when it comes to Madonna's performing, as she's quite often alone on the stage with just her guitar and the audience. It is a tour more about being close to her fans and less about the theatrical fanfare of her previous tour.
Overall I enjoyed the show very much and everyone had fun. It was her first show in Greece and I'm only hoping that she will include Athens in her tours to come! After all, she seemed to be very happy and pleased by our reception.
From Jordana:
I was yesterday at the concert in athens and I was one of the 'lucky' guys who had paid a lot of money for their hot ticket.
Unfortunately, there was no difference between the pitch a-ticket holders and the hot tickets-holder. We were all toghether at the front barricades, no matter whether we paid 230 euros or 90 euros. It was really annoying. And unfortunately, alhough it was in the decription of the hot ticket-package, the VIP-laminate was not delivered to us. As soon as I am back in Germany I will write a complaint mail to Live Nation. If I had known it would habe been that way I would have saved my money for the hot ticket and would have had enough money to go see the Queen of Pop again.
Except for that it was a great show. I was at the fron barricades and I had a perfect view to Madonna. It was my first time I came so close to her and despite of the bad hot-ticket experience it was not the last time. Before she started singing You must Love me, we started yelling MADONNA, MADONNA, MADONNA and she had to wait a few minutes til she could go on with her song. She replied our screaming efforts with a cheerful Thank You.
It was a great night and I am looking forward to her next tour. Unfortunately for me the Sticky & Sweet Tour has officially ended but I am excited about the fan reports of the other countries.
