Wednesday 08 September - Gelredome, Arnhem

From FlyingDutchman:
Hey, I went to see Madonna for the second time tonight, the other one was in Paris September 2nd. Tonight I thought the crowd was a little tough in the beginning. Madonna said during the second section: 'You are not allowed to throw things at me' and later on she said: 'Holland I give you one more chance to make me feel welcome'. After that the crowd went crazy and I heard almost the whole stadium sing to the rest of the songs. But I have to admit that the Paris crowd was warmer than tonight. Let's see what tomorrow will bring. BTW Madonna herself was hot as ever.

From E de Vries:
Great concert allthough I didn't have the best seats in the house. The strange thing was that after the concert nobody really talked about whether it was good or bad or maybe I just missed that.
It also seemed that most people only reacted to her well known songs and didn't really care about the lesser known ones. I thought it was a great combination of ballads and up tempo songs. I really loved Like A Prayer that certainly got the crowd going the same with Material Girl.
Actually I heard a little remark from someone that thought that the ending of the concert was an anti climax. I'd like to hear what other visitors think about that.

From Ralf:
Madonna was in very good form this night, and so was the audience.I have been to the Wembley arena and Paris shows but this one was even better. Wearing the golden corset again this night her singing and dancing was very convincing and so were the dancers.
She had to get used to the Dutch audience since she had not played here for 14 years but got an overwhelming response. The crowd went bananas when she rose on the platform during Vogue and maintanined the same enthusiastic during the entire show.
At one point she asked: 'Are the people in Holland having a good time?' A wall of cheers and screams was the answer to which she responded 'I am'. Furthermore she apologized for not playing here for so long 'but I did not do it on purpose' and she toasted to us with her bottle of water.
'Papa Don't Preach' got a huge response as well and I noticed a little sincere emotion when she began 'Imagine', she almost was in tears. The most funny part was during 'Music' when she fluffed her lines during the second verse, making a face and going 'Aaarrgghhh!'
I had a great time surrounded by great people. Thumbs up for the security at Gelredome, much better than the un-organised chaos in Paris on Wednesday the first of September. Now I am up for 4 hours of sleep and head back to Arnhem for the second show. Madonna rules! Always and forever!

From Etienne:
Well....from the first until the last moment the show is 'finger licking good - smooth running machine engine!'
The visual effects on the big screen which slide all over the stage give this event a extra dimension and once again Madonna is proving that she is the most RE-INVENTIVE entertainer walking on the face of this earth.
Comparing to Blond Ambition where she still was dancing her ass off, Madonna, shows herself as a fully mature woman, holding everything in control and letting her dancers to their stuff.
All songs were carefully chosen and brought randomly from her last album to the first and some songs sang in a totally different arrangement. All 'n all, I loved the show.

From Peter And Marco:
Yesterday we went to Madonna's tour in Arnhem. Through a radio competition I won tickets for the Pit. After being a fan for almost 20 years, I felt I deserved that. I took my boyfriend, Marco, who is also a big fan. We saw the show from the left pit, as a crew memeber mentioned it, but from the crowd point of view it was the right one. We had such a good view and to see Madonna from this nearby was amazing! And to see how the stage works and how many people are involved! It was incredible....
And the dancers were so full of energy as well as Madonna. and Donna and Siedah, in fact we saw Donna after the rehearsals with a plate with food behind the stage.
The show was the best. Madonna apologized for not being in Holland for 14 years and said I didn't mean to. The crowd went wild. The crowd seem to like her older hits and sang them along.
The highlight for us was that she high fived us after her performance of Like A Prayer. I'll never wash my hand again!
And best of all: we are on the cover of (at least 2) Dutch Newspapers....one of them was De Telegraaf. My boyfriend is the one screaming between Madonna's legs, and I am the one in the right. It was a night we will never forget!

From Roy:
Awesome! Fabulous and really stylish show, although she started 45 minutes late (again). She stumbled over a verse of music and said someting like duh! She also said she was sorry she hadn't been to Holland for so long. Massive response!
During Papa Don't Preach she was wearing her Kabbalists Do It Better shirt. We were really close to the stage, appr. 8 metres. She looked and sounded awesome, the biggest buzz after the show was how strong her voice was. It all went too fast! Peronally I thought the transitions in between the songs were sometimes too fast.
There were few surprises for me as a regular visitor of this site, which was a pity. The Bedtime Story video was gorgeous! Too bad she did not sing Hollywood live on stage, one of my favourite songs. The performances were great though. There was no Bittersweet Symphony during Don't Tell Me. The Paris background was there again.
When someone threw a teddybear on stage she said: 'Stop throwing shit at me', which was funny. A night to rememer, she is on the frontpage of almost every paper here and she is mentioned on every news programme. Terrific show!

From Bob:
Last night was really great in Arnhem. She began at 9 o clock and rocked!
Everybody was dancing and singing along with her when she said 'mother-fuckers' everybody went crazy!
She missed a few words in Music and said quitetly aaaahhhhhh! When Like A Prayer started she asked if we would sing along with her, and we did....we blew her away.
I thought this one was much better then the one in Paris, the crowd was awesome!

From Simon:
The show went very smoothly, no obvious hitches or mistakes. Madonna's voice was controlled and beautiful, much stronger than previous tours.
The rock version of Burning Up was ignored by the majority of the crowd - not sure they new the song, but what a fab version!
Madonna spoke very little during the show, she said how nice it was to be back in Holland and that she was sorry that she had not been in such a long time.
'Imagine' was well received, the cigarette lighters were on all over the stadium, so poignant.
Overall, fantastic, loved the stage, but as reported before, you watch one piece of it and miss something else - I need to see it again, and again, and again....

From Isabelle:
Madonna came on stage around 9 as usual. She indeed wore the gold corset instead of the purple one....she looks amazing in it.
She spit again at her dancers during Lament and when Like A Prayer started she said again that this was the non-sitting song.
She told us that it had been such a long time since she came to Holland and that she was sorry she didn't meant to be so long....
The crowd was singing along to so many songs sometimes you could hear the crowd sing above her, they really had a great time and so did Madonna because as she sang Mother And Father she said so. It was a great experience to see her again.

From Bas:
Just got back from the Arnhem gig and just would like to share the highs and lows of the concert.
The highs: Madonna's singing has vastly improved over the last few years. I was at the Blond ambition tour and the Drowned world tour and wasn't too impressed with her live singing qualities but this was much, much better! The dancers were terrific! What an energy, what a show!
The whole show is directed very tightly. One song flows into another which is very impressive but also a bit impersonal.
The lows: The Gelredome in Arnhem is a terrible venue when you're seated. We had tickets in the second best price category and Madonna was just a mere spec on the horizon. We were so far of that even the video screens on either side of the stage hardly offered worth while viewing.
The sound was appalling to. The volume was way too low, you could even have a normal conversation with your neighbour, even worse you got hear other peoples conversations! Somehow it was like watching a concert from the sidelines instead of really being part of it. From now on it's either field tickets or no tickets at all for me.
Madonna's interaction with the crowd was a bit better than her last concerts but could still be better. The chosen songs represented the whole of her career well but I really do hope that I've heard Hanky Panky for the very last time now; must be one of the worst Madonna songs.
All in all, very worthwhile if you can get close to the stage!

From Marjolein:
At 18.15h, we heard Madonna do Vogue inside the stadium as a rehearsal. Therefore, the gates just opened at 19.15h instead of 18.00h. It was a very nice atmosphere outside! We had very nice seats at the side of the stage. At 21.00h, it was, for us, the second time we saw Madonna coming out of the stage. She wore the golden corset again! That was great since we saw the purple/blue one in Paris. She said many things to the crowd, but because they all screamed wild, I could not always hear what Madonna said.
One time, someone threw a teddybear at Madonna and she looked at it and pointed in the crowd and said: DON’T THROW SHIT AT ME! In Material Girl, she wanted us to sing along and we all sure did! It was fantastic! In Lament, she again spit on a dancer and after 'Don’t Tell Me' she waited a while, enjoyed the crowd, and continued with: Don’t you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever tell me to....STOP!
Then, during Like A Prayer, the crowd went crazy! After Papa Don’t Preach she said: 'Hello Arnhem! It's good to be back in Holland. It has been a long time I've not been here. I am sorry for that.'
Where I stood (of course I did not sit a moment during the show....) the crowd was very enthusiastic! It was amazing to stand between all those people who had the time of their lives. And I was one of them....
Madonna, thank you for coming to Holland again!

From Tanja:
She was outstanding! Again I was lucky enough to stand in the front row, so I had an amazing view. She was not so much talking to the fans as in Paris. She applogized for the fact that she hadn't visit Holland for over 14 years by saying: 'I didn't mean to....' We still all went crazy for her and you could see she was crazy for us! Thanks Madonna, you do it best!

From Snoetie Toetie:
Well, I went to see Madonna yesterday and WOW! She is so beautiful! So fit! So fantastic! Queen Madonna proves that she is the one and only Queen Of Pop! She is a true icon!
I'm 21 years old and have been a fan of her my whole life! She is my inspiration and role model. My dream always was to be at a Madonna concert and yesterday my dream came true! She was amazing! So unreal to see her so close! The show was the best I've ever seen!
The audience was fantastic! Everybody never stopped dancing during the show! The way that she was dancing was amazing! And her voice so pure! She really made up or the past 14 years that she didn't came to Holland!

From Bart:
I went to Arnhem last night! It was fucking great....she started to shout at a few guys in the front row....they threw her a little bear I think and she said: I don't want you to throw shit at me mother fuckers!'
The show was very, very good! She wore her gold corset during Vogue....it was really perfect. During The Beast Within some of the screens didn't seem to work....but it didnit bother anyone....but I saw the show before in Paris so I noticed.
Vocally I thought she was better in Paris....but the Gelredome is much larger than Bercy....so I don't know if it was the venue or Madonna anyway! It was great!

From Maurice:
Hi, me and my friends visited the first night in Paris and the first one in Arnhem. The crowd in Paris was great, dancing screaming very energetic. In Arnhem the crowd was very different. They weren't responding very well. During Like A Prayer Madonna said 'I want everybody up cause this is a dance song'. But the audience didn't move much. We heard a few oooh, ooohs, like they did in London but they ended quickly.
Madonna of course was great and later on she said sorry Holland that it took me so long to come back, and I thought well you're here now and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

From Oliver:
All I can say is WOW. The crowd at Gelredome was absolutely GREAT. Before the show started the whole audience made several Mexican waves and they worked pretty good! Madonna was as always in top form. For me, THE BEAST WITHIN and VOGUE were the highlights of the whole show. I´ve never seen something like this before in my life and I went to a lot of concerts through the years! What a show! THANKS MADONNA.

From Dennis:
Finally after 14 years she's back in Holland! Everybody waited for so long to she her and there were a lot of expectations. I thought that we were going to see a show with lots of politics stuff, but it wasn't. The most of all it was a great, big and energetic evening and it was it worth waiting for.
At 21:00 o clock suddenly the lights go out and we see the opening of the Re-Invention tour. She opened with Vogue and she did that fantastically! Wow what a power does she have.
When she started to talk to 'Holland' the crowd really goes wild. Yes! She is really there and it isn't a dream.
Especially the older songs were great, everybody in the audience sang along and goes wild. With Material Girl she said that we must prove to her that she was welcome here. Well she was!
It was really an amazing show, with lots of highlights and she really sang it well. You also saw that she really had a good time, she enjoyed as much as we did.
The highlights for me were: Vogue, Like A Prayer, Material Girl, Frozen, Express Yourself, Holiday Into the Groove / Papa Don't Preach.
We saw a great, spectacular show, from a great woman. A true Superstar. The one and only queen of pop in the world: Madonna!

From Dion:
It was the first time that I saw Madonna live, and it really was one of the greatest moments of my life! The show was great, also was her voice.
Especially 'Lament' and 'Deeper And Deeper' were great. She apologized for not being in Holland for the last 14 years and told us she had a good time, and so were we! If I know her show was this great, I had bought tickets for tonight's show too.

From Joost:
The organization in Gelredome could have used some improvement, especially for those waiting all day to stand on the field, the management can't figure out what capacity means and what toilets are, let alone the ridiculous long time before the doors opened! But all was forgotten when Madonna started! And what a show it was! I was in front at the middle of the stage and I've never been able to see a show this well! In this area the crowd was wild and dancing, and everybody was amazed by the show, the creativity of it and the stunning visuals.
Because I wanted to be surprised I didn't read any reviews up front so I can't compare it to the other shows but I think the show was pretty flawless and energetic, except for a small hiccup at Music where the music skipped. She seemed to love the Dutch crowd and told everybody she had been away for too much time. All in all an amazing evening. Some called it a licked show, I call it professionalism.
Although the sound was excellent where I was standing, some people on the higher seats complained about it being too soft. Maybe this had to do with the big size of this venue, the stage could have been much bigger here for the ones sitting on the side, but you don't hear me complaining :) On a side note: the merchandise was pretty disappointing, apart from the program most stuff doesn't scream good taste....

From Iris:
I was at the first of the two Madonna shows in The Netherlands. She was G.R.E.A.T. Amazing what that woman can do to a crowd! She made me cry during Nothing Fails and Lament. It was very emotional and you could hear that. Her singing was gorgeous. Her dancing was supreme. Her guitar playing was truly stunning. Her interaction with the audience was uncanny. This is just pure ART. She's still capable of anything! And she's the only one. She left me speechless....right now I can't even find the words to say how she made me feel last night. Thank you Madonna!

From Petra:
Yesterday I was in Arnhem for the concert of the year (8th September). I already have seen the show in Paris (1st September).
I went there with my boyfriend, my sister and my sister's boyfriend. We were sitting in section 120. The tickets I bought from ICON. It were very good places near the stage and I could see Madonna much better than in Paris.
When The Beast Within began, Gelredome went wild. Everybody was screaming and the place was exploding! Also in Holland the audience started the 'oooh-ooohs'.
Me and my sister were crying because we were so happy to see her again. After a few songs she told the audience that she felt sorry that she hasn't been in Holland for so many years. Everyone went wild.
It was an amazing concert and we will keep this great memory in our hearts for ever - MADONNA, WE LOVE YOU!

From Marc:
I'd seen Madonna alrady in London the 22nd, in Wembley I could almost touch the ceiling, but this time I had fanclub tickets! Due to busy work and traffic we were a bit late at the booth and they had already given our tickets to someone else, but no problem....
A quick telephone call was made and we were guided to the pit area! A whole new experience. Madonna was really enjoying herself tonight, made apologies for not beeing a round for quite some time. The 'Kabbalists Do It Better' shirt was back from the dry cleaners. A bit disappointing was the Paris background. I was really expecting Amsterdam....

From Petra:
Gladly after 14 years Madonna returned to Holland.
I am a thirty year old fan of her and it was my first time that I saw her. And it was great. We arrived at about 11.30 in the morning at the Gelredome station in Arnhem. We waited there until 19.00. The doors opened and we could get in. I had a camera with me and yes, they let me through. I was not allowed to take pictures but I tried and I was lucky.
I had to watch out for the security because they wanted to take the camera, but luckily for me they didn't.
In one word: Amazing. Everything from the beginning till the end: AMAZING.
I hope that everyone liked it as I did. So Madonna when you are starting a new tour in a couple of years, think about that nice little country near England and come to Holland again. Madonna, Holland loves you.

From Bas:
I saw the show on Wednesday and it was fabulous!
Her voice was so pure and strong, better than ever and she said she was sorry that she didn't visit Holland earlier....
Of course she dedicated Crazy For You to all her fans, and reminded us how strong the lyrics to Imagine were....

From Kirsten:
This show was really great, but it seemed, it took her a little time to convince the audience, but rocking 30,000 people is still quite an easy job for her.
Nearly everybody was singing the lines with her. She was still full of energy after all those concerts, amazing!

From Nathan:
I saw Madonna last night and I think everything is already said, except one thing that I haven't read so far....before she starts to sing 'Lament' when she is sitting on the electric chair she spat at one of the dancers that tied her on the chair. I don't know if she does this on every show, it seemed to be spontaneous! This was shocking according to the response of the public. Anyway a good show but I found the venue too big, she seemed to be so far away.

From Jeroen:
Madonna was in exceptional voice last night in Arnhem, Holland. Voice-wise there was no comparison to her earlier visits to the Netherlands in 1987 and 1990.
Frozen, Deeper and Deeper, a very emotional Lament and especially the high-notes at the end of Mother and Father went straight to the heart of the Dutch crowd. However, there were some downsides too.
Madonna seemed rushed and was unsatisfied by the amount of noice her audience was making. In the sing-along section of Material Girl she told her audience this was 'the last chance to make me feel welcome' (we were screaming at the top of our lungs by then). On the other hand she apologized for not visiting Holland on her two previous tours. She didn't need to though, we forgave her the minute she appeared on stage.

From Annoesjka:
I read your fan reports and there is one thing that I'm really missing here. I didn't read anything about what she said before singing 'Crazy For You' after 'Papa Don't Preach'.
She said: 'I know that it's a long time that I've been to Holland and I'm sorry about that. I would like to say thank you to my fans for staying loyal to me for twenty years and for coming here tonight.' You will understand that at this point the crowd went wild!
Then she sang all alone on stage, without band, dancers the first part of 'American Life': 'Do I have to change my name? Will it get me far? Should I lose some weight? (pointing at her belly) Am I gonna be a star?' The crowd went crazy at this point and it was obvious that Madonna was touched.
Then she said: 'I would like to dedicate this next song to all my fans that are here tonight' and then she sang 'Crazy For You' and during the song Madonna could not hide her emotions in her voice. I must admit that when she said all this and sang 'Crazy For You' I could not hold my tears....

Thursday 09 September - Gelredome, Arnhem

From René, Ilse, Veronique, Ellen And Marcel:
WHAT A LADY! This was the most exciting concert of Madonna that I ever watched she was beautiful, smooth, sexy and her voice was flawless.
When she started with Vogue I was thrilled and suddenly there was a tear on my face I was totally in trance and so happy that the Queen was back in Holland.
Thank you Madonna for giving us a unforgetable night and please....don't you dare to stop....EVER!

From Rob And Roy:
Last night in Arnhem's 2nd show, they did fool around a lot, what you guys didn't write yet was that before The Beast Within started you could hear Madonna say: 'Hi this is Madonna and I want to read you my new book, Mr Peabody's Apples', which was kinda weird.
It was a much better show than yesterday, Madonna and her dancers where better in shape and this time the screens worked properly. It was fun and the sound was FAB A+

From Loek:
Madonna was amazing. From the first tone of Vogue to the last of Holiday. She really rocked Gelredome! Her choreography was absolutely stunning, and she danced her butt off.
She wasn't very talkative, but there were some memorable moments. 'Imagine' was very emotional, when pictures of kids from the whole world passes the screen, and Madonna said that we should think about all these kids.
At this show Monte licked Madonna's guitar and we saw that they had a really good time on stage.
The only dissapointment was the audience, who did not really react on the comments from Madonna.

From Berthil:
I was there both nights and it was awsome! I had the time of my life (and so the people around me, they only could hear me scream hahaha).
It is funny to see the little changes between the shows. For example, the dancers during Papa Don't Preach, they wore the Kaballah shirts only as a top so we could see their belly. She thanks Holland for making her very welcome here after Papa Don't Preach.
She interacted more the second night with the audience and it looked like she was having more fun. For Imagine she held a speech for the kids around the world. She also mentioned that she'd knew there were a lot of people from all over the world in the house that night. Also it was funny to see the same fans both nights....
And at last I wanted to say I was the one who throw the teddybear onstage. It was meant to be as a joke. 'Cause she said in Paris, after someone throwing up a teddy, that she liked diamonds.'
So my friend and I bought a 'diamante-ring' and put it on the teddybear with a card: 'Hello Madonna, here is your diamond where you asked for in Paris' and we wanted to give it to her during Material Girl. We thought is was funny, and we still think it's funny. She didn't look at it but one of her dancers took it backstage!
I had a great time and hopefully she's going to tour again someday! Madonna you're the best!

From Ralf:
Well, from all the shows I saw on this tour (Wembley, Paris and two times Arnhem) last night September 9th was absolutely the best.
Madonna was obviously much more confident after the first night when she was 'testing' the audience and even the audience was much more enthusiastic.
First of all, the sound was much better, I never heard her pray so clearly during the 'The Beast Within' part before. This was also the first time I heard her say at the very beginning 'This is Madonna' of this opener.
Lots of fans in the front row including me caught her attention and she was smiling and pointing at us a lot of times.
From the grand smirk on her face you could tell she was having a ball. Later she thanked us for such a wonderful welcome after soooo many years of absence and was really happy with that. She introduced Imagine differently from the other shows I saw, talking about 'seeing the world through the eyes of a child', it looked like she wiped a tear away at that moment.
Hilarious was during Papa Don't Preach when two of her male dancers came on stage instead of the usual two female dancers to join the dancing in this song wich, of course, was a joke of the dancers. Madonna look first confused but then laughed, 'Boys will be girls, right?' was her comment. Then during Imagine I could see the bagpiper getting ready for his entrance under the stage and had some interaction with him. Most funny part was when a small moth during Deeper and Deeper was flying around her head wich she followed by turning her head around and looking at it.
It was just an unforgettable show, seeing Madonna just 2 or 3 metres away from you on the platforms seeing spit and hair fly all around. It is a very surreal experience to see this woman you follow for 19 years and wich face you know mainly from TV and numerous pictures right in front of you.
Thank you Madonna, thank you fellow Dutch Madonna fans, I had a fantastic time with my boyfriend, the other fans were wonderful, there was a great atmosphere during the hours before the show.

From Kev:
I went to see two Re-Invention shows in Paris this year and I must say they were absolutely fantastic! The show, the crowds response, everything was amazing! I couldn't resist to buy tickets for the second Arnhem show so I did, but to be honest this time I really was disappointed.
Not because of Madonna or the show because they both were flawless like in Paris! But the crowd really wasn't into the groove, Madonna really tried her best to wake them up but no reaction (some exceptions....), sometimes I was looking around me I saw people talking, phoning and doing a lot of stuff except watching the show,I couldn't believe this, it's not that tickets are so cheap to see her anyway.
At one time she was even saying something like fuckin.....(I guess it must have been about the crowds reaction to the show)....when she said this she didn't think we would hear this, but it seemed that her microphone was still on, so when it happened me and my girlfriend looked at each other very surprised! I also (and I was not alone) thought that the music level througout the whole show was to low and the lights on the tribunes kept shining all show long.
Some things I liked very much was when I heard the Bittersweet Symphony version of Don't Tell Me, because this was the first time I heard it and that there were two male dancers with her on the moving stage instead of the two girls I had seen before.
Truly believe me I'm a die hard Madonna fan and I think it's strange I'm writing this opinion but I was disappointed by the crowd and certainly not because of the Queen Of Pop, I wouldn't even be surpised if this was her first and last stop in Arnhem! People if you're not willing to have the time of your life at her concert than please stay home! Love you Madonna.

From Alexander:
I went yesterday to Madonna in Arnhem. Madonna rules! It was a big dream to see her and this night was the best I ever had. She really made me cry with Frozen and off course Nothing Fails....we were standing in in the front! I could not believe she was so close to me....so pretty and fit! Today I am still in a Madonna trance....thanks Maddy!

From Petr:
I have seen the 1st show in Paris and yesterday on the 9th the one in Arnhem. Both shows were fantastic but I really didn't expect there could still be such a difference though. You can say French people are really much shorter then the Dutch and imagine lots of them had those pink hats on too! :-) The view in Paris was just headless :-).
Also I think Gelredome is much to big to feel the same magic which I felt in Paris, the sound was not bad but didn't get so 'full' as in Bercy. But she has done it perfectly anyway. The main lights in the end stayed switched off longer then normal and I almost thought there would be an extra track coming after the crowd was bagging for so long....but I guess some light technician just fell asleep :-)
Those 2 performances made this year totally special for me. Who know we all might get re-invented by this. Good luck!

From Jeremy:
Whoever said the crowd were great that night obviously did not see the arena´s entirety. Where me and my boyfriend stood there were rude people, using mobile phones and whenever we danced we were stared at. As for Madonna she was enthusiastic and energetic. I loved the opening of the show and many would agree that 'The Beast Within' is a powerful and sinister opener. 'Vogue' was tightly choreographed and 'Nobody Knows Me' was punchy with a great use of imagery of words with music.
It's a shame she didn´t sing 'Hollywood' since this was so great live at the MTV Awards last year. I love how Madonna screams as well as sings. The performance of 'American life' disturbingly echoed the war in Iraq and 'Imagine' was very emotional and touching. As for the climax it was an anti-climax 'Holiday' simply did not have that disco beat that the record carries and Madonna's exit off stage was very impersonal and boring with the words 'Reinvent Yourself'.
For my first ever Madonna concert I was very impressed with her singing and her audience interaction although I could see her tiring towards the end of the show where she seemed to be just going through the motions.

From Katie:
After I had been in London at the first Earl’s Court show, I was so happy that I also managed to get tickets for the second Arnhem show and relive the fantastic experience. When I arrived at the Gelredome around 1 o’clock, I was amazed how few people were standing in line....I mean, we’re talking MADONNA here!
After a few hours of waiting the doors opened around six so we could all enter. I couldn’t believe that we were actually walking into the front arena - I must say the difference with block 27 at Earl’s Court was more than significant and I almost went out of my mind when I realised I was on the fifth row! This was a dream coming true.
The show was absolutely stunning, and again Madonna’s voice was perfect. She wore her golden corset again instead of the purple one she wore for London and Paris. There was less interaction with the crowd as there was in London, but you could see from the looks on her face she was having a good time. And also the crowd was really into it: there were A LOT of whoo-whoo’s, lots of singing along and during the slower songs lighters were on everywhere....
When the bagpiper came on stage and I gave him a welcome shout, the girl next to me gave me a look as if I was totally insane. I would like to say that I know that this show is about Madonna and she IS and always will be the star – but I think you are not a true fan if you don’t have any respect for the musicians, dancers, technicians, choreographers and so on who are also making this fanstastic show what it is!
At the end of the show while Madonna was singing Crazy For You, my mate and I held up the 'Madonna Does It Better' T-shirt I made. I will NEVER EVER forget the smile on her face when she looked at it....so thank you Madonna for this totally overwhelming show, don’t let this be your last tour and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE visit Belgium next time!

From Syl:
Wow, this was the first time I've seen Madonna live. And my dream comes true, what a beautiful concert.
I'm a fan for over 18 years. So I was very happy she did songs from all her albums. I've sang my lungs out of my body. She was so strong. Her voice was great. She looks marvelous.
Yes she was wearing the gold diamond studded silver bodice (and not the purple one), hot pants and big boots. She apologized for not being in Holland for 14 years. She showed all her favorite yoga/dance moves and she played guitar.
At one time there was a little butterfly near her head and she smiled when she saw that little thing....lovely to see that. A moment of the real 'home' Madonna, I think. Luckily I had a binoculars.
Madonna and her dancers wore on the end of the show scottish kilt....mmmm yummie men in Scottish kilts....
Holiday was her last song. Everybody was dancing and singing. Confetti all over. Then there was only the text Re-invent yourself. And she was going home.
