UK tabloid gossip: Oxford and Earls Court
Posted: 30 September 2004

Now the tour is over the UK tabloids still find some Madonna gossip to fill up their pages. Two items were featured today in two UK tabloid newspapers, first a piece from The Sun as reported by Ananova.com:

Madonna is to take on a literature degree from Oxford.
The Material Girl is to further her knowledge of British literary greats by studying for a Bachelor of Arts qualification.
But undergraduates have been told not to get too excited about sharing halls of residence with her - she'll be doing the course from home.
A source told The Sun: 'Madonna was always frustrated about having to sacrifice her education when her music career took off.'
'She is fiercely intelligent and incredibly well read and has always taken a keen interest in literature. She is determined to get a qualification. She sets herself new challenges all the time and the Oxford University course is her latest.'
'It's an illustrious place to study and she was delighted to be accepted and will make the most of the opportunity.'

Secondly in the Daily Mirror gossip column 3am they suggest that Madonna may re-visit Earls Court on tour later this year - although this rumour is totally unfounded:

Great news for Madonna fans. We hear she is planning three more dates at London's Earls Court.
Sources say the 46-year-old singer, who makes around £1 million per concert, was so pleased with the response from fans when she performed there last month she wants to play there again.
An insider tells us: 'It's still in the planning stages, but Madonna can't wait to go back to Earl's Court. She's hoping the shows will take place next month, we're just waiting to get confirmation.'
Let's just hope the tickets are less expensive this time around.

Victor Calderone: A new interview
Posted: 28 September 2004 - Thanks to Terry at www.madonnawebforum.com

madonnalicious brings you a preview of a new interview by Jason Russo with DJ and remixer Victor Calderone which will feature in the new issue of Brisbane magazine QP.

JJ: You've remixed just about every Madonna single she's released in the last six years tell me a little bit about the relationship you have with her.
VC: Well we developed a really good friendship and business relationship and I became really a part of this little family up there, I got really close with the management and the people up at the record label, you know they really liked my work and she's very fun to work with. Whenever I was in the studio I was always conscious of something that was always going to be fresh and new for her and it was always making me dig a little deeper.
It was a great experience working with her! You know I learned so much and I'm very grateful for everything she's done for me. We don’t hang out and you know and have dinner, she's got her family now and I have my family but we still have mutual respect for each other's work. I think it's time for me to break away from doing the Madonna remixes. I think I've done a little bit too many and I'm always just so very associated with her you know and overlooked for other things I've done. I've remixed so many other artists and it always comes back to Madonna.

JJ: Well I was going to ask is there anything you've done with Madonna that hasn't been released yet?
VC: Madonna remixes? Oh, um, no I think I've put out all the work I've done with her. There aren't any unreleased projects that I've worked on. Like I said, at this point I want to try and move on, there are so many other projects I've done and people always keep on going back to the Madonna thing.

The article goes on to talk to Victor about his new projects and his views on the current music scene and then he is asked some fan submitted questions:

JJ: Now I've got a few questions from some online friends. Sam asks; you've shown your diversity with Madonna's music by making great club tracks like the mixes of Frozen, Ray Of Light and Sky Fits Heaven as well as more experimental mixes like What It Feels Like For A Girl and Don't Tell Me, do you have a particular preference or mix that you're proud of?
VC: Um, yeah, it's funny that you mention one of those mixes because I'm very proud of the WIFLFAG remix, the down-tempo one, because it gave me the opportunity to go in a direction where I hadn't been going I really enjoyed that mix and had a lot fun doing it and I look forward to doing more projects like that.
More in the down-tempo, electronic, you know, a totally different direction from the dance mix you know. When you're constantly working on dance mixes, it feels, in the studio, it feels like it begins to get repetitive and when you work on something so different, in a different tempo like that or in a different direction, there's so much I hadn't done before and it brought so many fresh ideas to the table. So yeah, I'm very proud of that mix, that is one mix that I love very much and she actually really loved that mix and she loved it so much though that she put it in her show at the time and performed it live.

Madonna gifts Britney a Brit honeymoon!
Posted: 28 September 2004 - From The Times of India

Pop queen Madonna has reportedly invited newlyweds, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline to honeymoon at her country estate in Wiltshire.
Madonna called Britney to congratulate her on her wedding and then she and hubby Guy Ritchie invited her for a stay at their 9 million pounds Ashcombe Estate, so that the love birds could be kept away from the prying paparazzi.
Madge has reportedly also promised to give the couple some lessons in English country pursuits, and has asked for all the wedding gossip in return.
'Madonna always keeps an eye out for Britney. She has taken a keen interest in her career. She and Guy decided it would be a better idea to have them for a holiday than send them a gift,' a source was quoted by the Sun , as saying.
Britney too, has happily accepted the offer. 'Britney was so flattered. She looks up to Madonna and has always claimed she is one of her biggest influences. Spending some time at Madonna's house in England was the ultimate wedding present - it's not an audience many stars are granted,' the source added.

Madonna's boost for Israel
Posted: 26 September 2004 - From The Observer By Gemma Bowes

Madonna's visit to Israel on a Kabbalah pilgrimage last week is helping to reassure travellers that it's becoming a safer holiday destination, tourism chiefs hope.
Despite a suicide bombing in Jerusalem last Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the tourist board said the pop diva's five-day trip is expected to be a big boost for tourism.
'The area the bomb happened in wasn't a tourist area,' she said. 'Since Madonna visited, we've had a lot more calls from the public. A lot of people don't realise that Israel is a very modern, westernised country and there's so much to do. They just see what's on TV, but terrorism isn't central to Israel, it's all over the world.'
At the end of her trip Madonna said: 'I was a bit hesitant to come here after seeing so many news reports about terrorist attacks and reading countless travel safety warnings about how dangerous it is to be here if you are an American. I realise now that it is no more dangerous to be here than it is to be in New York, and I would like to emphasise the fact that I feel very safe and welcome.'
The Centre for Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism which Madonna follows, organised her trip and she was accompanied by around 1,200 other guests from 22 countries who were also making the pilgrimage to visit the grave of Kabbalist sage, Rabbi Yehuda Ashla. She stayed in Tel Aviv, but travelled to the north, to Zfat, Jerusalem and Galilee.
Between January and July of this year 80,000 British people visited Israel, a 63 per cent increase on the same period last year. The tourist board expects this year's total to reach 1.4 million.
The Foreign Office didn't change its travel advice following the latest bomb. It advises against travel along the Lebanon border and close to the Gaza Strip, to Nablus, Jenin and to the West Bank at night as there is a high threat of terrorism and military activity.

Doggie Documentary?
Posted: 25 September 2004 - From NY Post - Page Six By Richard Johnson

This piece of news appeared in the NY Post's gossip column today - the documentary it refers to is probably the forthcoming tour documentary and also contains another confirmation that this film may premiere in Cannes next year:

Undeterred by failures past, Madonna is apparently making a new movie - and this one features a French Shih Tzu. A Paris boulevardier told the Telegraph of London: 'My friend was walking along with her little Shih Tzu, Ulysse, when she was stopped by a woman who said, 'You're going to think I'm mad, but your dog is exactly the one that Madonna wants for her new documentary.'
That weekend two members of Madonna's band took Ulysse on a filmed tour of Paris, but they wouldn't let on about the film, except that it's due to premiere at Cannes next year.'

Let's end the hatred
Posted: 20 September 2004 - From the Metro By Sarah Mills

Madonna called for world peace yesterday at a conference on Jewish mysticism in Israel.
The Kabbalah devotee and her husband, film-maker Guy Ritchie, attended the event in Tel Aviv as part of a five-day visit to the Holy Land with 2,000 students of Kabbalah.
She admitted to the 1,000-strong gathering she was hesitant to come to Israel 'after seeing so many news reports about terror attacks' and reading official travel warnings.
'I realise now that it is no more dangerous to be here than it is to be in New York,' she said. Madonna said the people she met during her visit 'have one thing in common - we want to create peace in the world'. She added: 'We want to put an end to hatred with no reason.'
Earlier, Madonna made a pilgrimage to the grave of a Jewish sage and saw the sacred Western Wall. Israel hopes the star - the biggest pop celebrity to visit in years - will revive tourism battered by four years of Middle East violence.
But some have opposed her visit and involvement in Kabbalah, a type of Jewish mysticism that has a growing celebrity following. Critics say the raunchy, materialistic values the singer has promoted in the past are contrary to religious values.
Madonna, who has adopted the Hebrew name Esther and wears a Kabbalah red string on her wrist, insists she is serious about her belief.

Madonna calls for world peace during pilgrimage
Posted: 20 September 2004 - From itv.com - picture from AP

Madonna has called for world peace during her five-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Accompanied by her British husband Guy Ritchie, the 46-year-old was in Israel to practise her new-found faith in the mystical Jewish Kabbalah.
Israel hopes the star, the biggest pop celebrity to visit in years, will revive tourism battered by four years of violence.
Madonna, who recently adopted the Hebrew name Esther, wore a diamond initial 'E' necklace and a protection red string on her wrist.
She met Jewish and Arab Israeli children met Madonna at a Kabbalah convention in Israel as part of her five-day pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
'I have held hands and sung and danced and prayed with Sufis, Christians, Jews, Muslims and Druze, old, young, rich, poor, famous,' she said. 'Well I didn't actually meet that many famous people and not so famous but we all have one thing in common, we want to create peace in the world. We want to put an end to chaos and suffering but most of all we want to put an end to hatred for no reason.'
'I know there are a lot of powerful people out there tonight; people of influence, people with important jobs, people with money, people with the ability to effect change in the world, people who are capable of giving these children a better future. So I'm here to ask this one question - what are you waiting for?'
Kabbalah teaches that Creation is made of ten 'spheres', each of which is symbolised by a different Hebrew letter and part of the human body.
The couple's first stop was the grave at a Jewish cemetery of Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag, who established Kabbalah.
Orthodox Jews have argued that it is purely dogma and Madonna is said to be irritated by accusations her faith is nothing more than a celebrity fad.
The singer had been hesitant to visit Israel because of ongoing violence but said the biggest danger was 'a few very naughty Paparazzi'.
'To be perfectly honest I was a bit hesitant to come here after seeing so many news reports about terrorist attacks and reading countless travel safety warnings,' she said.

Paparazzi Madonna's only fear on Israel trip
Posted: 19 September 2004 - From Yahoo! News/AFP/Reuters

US pop diva Madonna insisted that paparazzi and not Palestinian suicide bombers had been her only fear during a four-day visit to Israel.
'I would like to emphasize that I felt very safe and very welcome,' she said at a gala reception following her much publicized spiritual retreat.
'The most dangerous thing that I encountered were very naughty paparazzi in front of my hotel,' she said, alluding to yet another bust-up between her bodyguards and press photographers.
Saturday's incident outside Madonna's hotel on Tel Aviv's Mediterranean seafront led to two of her bodyguards being arrested and two photographers being taken to hospital.
The self-proclaimed Material Girl, a keen aficionado of the ancient Jewish mystical tradition known as Kabbalah, arrived in Israel Wednesday for a three-day retreat, which began with a traditional blessing ceremony to welcome in the Jewish new year.

Madonna to give speech tonight
Posted: 19 September 2004 - From the Jerusalem Post

Madonna is to speak Sunday night at the 'Spirituality For Kids' benefit for a 'spiritual fund for children' at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv, following a holiday weekend of prayers, religious study, and a paparazzi mishap.
Hosted by Dan Shilon, the evening will include speeches from Labor Party leader Shimon Peres, Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom, Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Ehud Olmert, and Druse leader Sheikh Abulrocan. Singers Ahinoam Nini and Amal Murkus, a Palestinian, are to perform.
'The 'Spirituality For Kids' Israel event will mark the beginning of a peace movement that will show children and adults around the world that the road toward peace begins with embracing your voice and others' with compassion, respect, and acceptance,' the US-based Kabbalah Center wrote in a press release.
Madonna is also expected to receive an ancient oil lamp and a coin from the Byzantine period from Tourism Minister Gideon Ezra at the Sunday night event.

Madonna's visit to the Western Wall
Posted: 19 September 2004 - Thanks to Thomas

Madonna's visit to the site of the Western Wall early this morning was captured on the Western Wall Webcam!

Madonna visits Western Wall site
Posted: 19 September 2004 - From BBC Online

Pop star Madonna has visited Judaism's sacred Western Wall in the dead of night, to avoid being mobbed by waiting photographers.
But the singer, who is on a spiritual quest to the Holy Land, only glimpsed the wall from her car and did not go down to the site during Sunday's visit.
Earlier, she made a midnight pilgrimage to a Jerusalem cemetery and held a ceremony at the grave of a Jewish sage.
The Kabbalah devotee began her five-day visit to Israel on Wednesday. The singer and her family have joined 2,000 fellow Kabbalists from the Los Angeles-based Kabbalah Centre to celebrate the start of the Jewish New Year.
Kabbalah is a type of Jewish mysticism that has a growing celebrity following. But Madonna, who recently adopted the Hebrew name Esther and wears a trademark Kabbalah red string on her wrist, has insisted she is serious about her belief in the Jewish mysticism.
Madonna and her husband were flanked by heavy security. She visited the grave of the Kabbalist sage Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag with her husband, film-maker Guy Ritchie, at the Kiryat Shaul cemetery, just after midnight on Sunday.
Polish-born Ashlag, who died in 1954, is the renowned author of the Sulam - the ladder - a commentary on the core Kabbalistic text, the Zohar.
Madonna spent more than an hour inside the stone mausoleum, placing candles on the tomb, praying and chanting.
The entourage, led by a rabbi, recited blessings over food and wine and drank from small plastic cups.
After the visit, they moved on to the Western Wall - a part of Judaism's holiest site where the biblical temples once stood - but Madonna stayed in the car.
At the site she received a mixed welcome from young worshippers, with some chanting: 'She has no right to be here.'
Some have opposed Madonna's visit and involvement in Kabbalah, charging that the raunchy, materialistic values the singer has promoted in the past are contrary to religious values.
But others welcomed her visit and said she had deprived herself of a spiritual experience by remaining in her vehicle. Hadass Chen, who came to see the singer, said: "Why did she not come out of the car, we were waiting for her. 'You don't feel the vibe if you don't touch the wall.'

Madonna's bodyguards Israel arrest
Posted: 18 September 2004 - From Yahoo! News

Israeli police have detained two of Madonna's bodyguards after they assaulted photographers waiting for the star outside her Tel Aviv hotel.
Two of the photographers and a policeman who tried to break up the brawl were wounded, said Tel Aviv police spokesperson Liat Pearl.
'Two security guards were detained for questioning by the Tel Aviv police department,' said Pearl.
The pop diva has been in Israel since Wednesday with 2,000 other students of Kabbalah, or Jewish mysticism.
Madonna's visit to the country has sparked a media frenzy with the local dailies devoting pages detailing her luxury hotel suite and even her menu for the Jewish New Year celebrations, but journalists have been kept at a distance during the visit. The scuffle broke out as the photographers trailed Madonna back from a restaurant to her hotel.
The star's Israeli bodyguards knocked one of the photographers to the floor and kicked him in the face, before attacking the second one who tried to intervene, according to a cameraman on assignment for Associated Press Television News, who was at the scene.
Madonna had already entered her hotel when the fight broke out.

Nothing phony about Madonna's spiritual journey
Posted: 17 September 2004

Cathleen Falsani, the religion writer on the Chicago Sun-Times has written a passionate article in defense of Madonna's interest and study of Kabbalah:

Leave Madonna alone.
You didn't like her when she was emphasizing materialism.
You called her a hedonist.
You didn't like her when she was flaunting her sexuality.
You called her a slut.
You didn't like it when she became a disciplined practitioner of yoga.
You called her a poseur.
And now that she's found what, to me at least, appears to be a serious spiritual discipline that seems to have transformed her into a more serious, modest and generous mother, wife and entrepreneur, you call her an opportunist.
You say she's faking it.
Will Madonna forever be damned by the sins of her past, incapable of genuine transformation and beyond redemption?
It's as if her interest in Kabbalah, the esoteric Jewish mystical tradition that teaches, among many things, that humans can overcome death and illness by the way they behave and think, somehow detracts from or sullies the tradition itself. As if a single person could diminish such ancient, enduring wisdom.
Even if Madonna's approach to Kabbalah is more neo-mystical than traditional, how is that a bad thing for anyone besides, perhaps, herself? And who, exactly, is she hurting by wearing a piece of red string around her wrist and spending time studying spiritual texts?

Happy Rosh Madonna
Posted: 17 September 2004 - From the NY Post By Uri Dan

Madonna rang in the Jewish New Year yesterday by immersing herself in six hours of kabbalah prayers and song on the first full day of her spiritual journey in Israel.
The superstar sat in the front row of a makeshift synagogue at a meeting room of her luxury Tel Aviv hotel, where some 2,400 followers of Jewish mysticism gathered for an international conference.
Men and women were segregated from each other — so she and her white-clad husband, Guy Ritchie, sat apart.
Witnesses said Madonna joined in singing prayers during yesterday's Rosh Hashana session which ran from 11 a.m. until a meal break at 5 p.m.
She appeared intently listening to a lecture by her spiritual adviser, Eitan Yardeni, which was translated into Hebrew, Arabic and Spanish.
Madonna is on a six-day visit to the Holy Land, which includes a visit to religious shrines.

Re-Inventing The Tour Documentary
Posted: 16 September 2004

As many fans will know, Madonna has had documentary cameras follow her around on her Re-Invention tour. Footage has been shot of Madonna at work and play all around the world, from the early days of the tour rehearsals to the final scenes after the last show in Lisbon where the cameras were seen shooting footage of Madonna and her dancers having one final post-show hug.

Not only was Madonna filmed, but many fans and the people who help keep the show on the road (but are usually in the background) were also filmed for this documentary. Show footage that was shot on two nights in Paris by the documentary director Jonas Akerlund should also be included in the final version.

Now post-production has begun - the team have shot an amazing 1500 hours of footage and are aiming to edit it down into 1.5 hours....not an easy task! Madonna will oversee the final editing process.

Fellow fansite Mad-Eyes have reported that hopefully the finished documentary will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2005.

I'm not going anywhere, you'll be seeing me again!
Posted: 15 September 2004

Madonna played her 56th and final show of the Re-Invention tour at the Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon last night, the show was again filmed for a DVD release.
In a defiant answer to all the people who asked if this was a farewell tour Madonna herself said last night: I'm not going anywhere, you'll be seeing me again!

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Bruno:
She was absolute perfection and, although I have read that she had cried other times during her show, this particular time we could see she was really brought down to tears during her 'Don’t Tell Me' performance due to the overall massive cheering and support she was getting from the crowd. In fact, she had to stop singing for a while because she was sobbing quite heavily.

From Guilherme:
She was in such a great mood, her voice perfect! It was such an emotional experience....I think she broke down in tears in some points of the show. She said something like: 'I look around and see so much love and joy in your eyes. I look at the people that work with me I don't want tonight to end. Thank you Portugal'.
Needless to say there were teary eyes all over the place. It was the best concert ever! I'm so happy I was there!

Madonna arriving in Israel tonight
Posted: 15 September 2004 - From Haaretz.com

Pop superstar Madonna will reportedly be landing in Israel tonight to take part in a Kabbalah conference with some 2,000 participants from 22 countries. Madonna, who performed in Israel in 1993, will be arriving here from Lisbon, the last leg of her 'Re-Invention' world tour which began in May.
The Kabbalah Center sponsoring the event confirmed that fashion designer Donna Karan will also be participating in the conference, along with Marla Maples, Donald Trump's ex-wife. Actress Demi Moore is also reportedly joining the group.
The Kabbalah Center has extensively publicized the participation of Rabbi Philip Berg, head of the world Kabbalah Center, as conference head, but Haaretz has learned that Berg will not be attending the conference. 'The rabbi is ill, and he is now feeling better. He has to get permission from his doctors to fly to Israel,' Tali Rosen, Kabbalah Center spokesperson said.
The conference will begin tonight and continue until Sunday. The main event is a gala benefit for a 'spiritual fund for children,' to be held at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. Ahinoam Nini will sing three numbers, including John Lennon's 'Imagine,' along with Palestinian songstress Amal Murkus. Madonna is scheduled to speak at the event.
Conference participants will spend 12 days in Israel. Their itinerary includes the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yohai in Meron, the tomb of Kabbalah luminary Rabbi Isaac Lurie in Safed, and the Tomb of Rachel near Bethlehem. The center has reserved 1,200 rooms in hotels in Tel Aviv and Tiberias.
Madonna's fans are coming out in full force at the hotel for their idol. One fan, Liron Shahar, 24, from Petah Tikva, had a special shirt yesterday to wear in hopes of attracting the star's attention, emblazoned with the Kabbalistic name Madonna chose for herself, Esther.
On the invitation to journalists extended by Arad Communication representing the Kabbalah Center, news organizations were asked to send non-Jewish camera crews to cover conference events taking place on Rosh Hashanah and Saturday. The invitation also notes that Jewish journalists may not write.
'We are not interested in desecrating the holiday,' explained Rosen, who also said they did not want 'to hurt the feelings of those for whom the holiday and the Sabbath are important.'
A public address system will be in operation over the holiday, which, according to Rosen 'is permitted according to halakha (Jewish law).'

Estão contentes?
Posted: 14 September 2004

Madonna played her first-ever concert in Portugal last night at the Atlantic Pavilion in Lisbon. The show is being filmed for a possible DVD release later, and Madonna and her crew put on a very professional show.

The London backdrop and Bittersweet Symphony mix were back for Don't Tell Me.

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Paulo Pereira:
Another show and tour to remember forever. And she loved the crowd, at one time she said she was astounded. The high moment of the show was definitely Like A Prayer, when everyone sang, I mean, everyone.

From Paulo Pires:
Spreading sensuality all over the stage, her voice crystal clear and her dancing near perfection, she was great. She is great!
The group of musicians and dancers exceeded our expectations. A professional show, full of sound and colour.

From Juha:
Madonna even tried portuguese, with 'Obrigado!' (in a perfect accent - 'thanks') and 'Estão contentes?' ('Are you happy?') (of course we were). She said it was about time she came to Portugal, shouted 'What's Up Lisbon!' and said this was a great place to end her tour. We couldn't agree more!

From Joana:
In every song everyone was singing at the top of their lungs! When Madonna was singing Imagine we could see thousands of lighters! She said that she was very happy to have choosen Portugal to finish her tour. She was smiling all the time.

From David:
She seemed very moved, almost teary-eyed when she sang 'Don't Tell Me', closing her eyes at the end, feeding off the good vibrations from the crowd. Before singing 'Imagine' she said we must not forget history in order to avoid repeating it.

About being in Portugal, she said that this was the first time and that the country was a perfect place to finish her tour. Although she's been singing continuously for the past six months - WOW - her voice was amazing, and she was so much energy.

From Nuno:
Madonna entered the stage and conquered the room. The sound of people cheering was earth-shattering. Everyone was really excited and you could see people from 12 to 80 (this old man was in the middle of the crowd, having fun) and from a lot of nationalities. I found some Greeks, Italians, Chinese, Australians. It was like having the Euro 2004 euphoria but concentrated in one room.

From Filipe:
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! ISTAMOS CONTENTIS! It was about time she came to Portugal! This was the second time I saw her live....and I just want more!
Brilliant show, not as theatrical as the others, but indeed very powerful and musical!

Madonna to give speech in Israel
Posted: 14 September 2004 - From The Kabbalah Centre

September 19, 2004 will be an historic day for peace and unity. For the first time in history Palestinian and Israeli children, who have spent years separated by hate, prejudice, and fear, are coming together in Israel to say, 'STOP, we've had enough, now it is OUR turn to be HEARD!'
These children are emerging from the darkness and embracing the light of peace in an event hosted by Spirituality For Kids, a not-for-profit program supported by Michael Berg, Kabbalist scholar and the author of Becoming Like God. In a region devastated by years of war and extreme prejudice the Spirituality For Kids Israel event will mark the beginning of a peace movement that will show children and adults around the world that the road towards peace begins with embracing your voice and others with compassion, respect, and acceptance.
Joining Michael Berg for this monumental event will include political and social leaders: Shimon Peres, Silvan Shalom, Sachi Hanegbi, and Eaud Olmart as well as high-profile celebrities such as Madonna, Guy Ritchie, and Donna Karen and many others.
Hosted by Dan Shilon, the evening will include speeches from Madonna; Elies Jabol, a Christian Arab who is the head of House and Hope and peace agreement leader in the Middle East; Shiek Manasra, a Soufe Sheik and Sheik Abulrocan, a Drues Sheik.
Berg says, 'We need to honor these heroic and courageous children. A gathering of this magnitude can have the power to diminish the volatile gap between Israeli and Arab communities to help the people recognize that love is stronger than hate and that peace is the focus for the future.'
These children have learned, through the Spirituality For Kids programs and the spiritual tools of Becoming Like God, to take control of their own negativity and use their power to create a world not lead by hatred and adversity but a world of positive resolve and dedication to an optimistic humanity.
Children are breaking the cultural barriers that prevent true growth and global acceptance to create better lives for themselves and their communities; they have become the teachers towards peace and the world has become their pupil.
The Kabbalah Centre is a place for people of all cultures and religions to come together to learn the divine wisdom of Kabbalah and to use this wisdom to improve their lives and the world for the better.

Madonna ends tour with sell-out concerts
Posted: 13 September 2004 - From AFP/Yahoo!

Pop diva Madonna was to end her world 'Re-Invention Tour' after more than three months on the road with two hotly-anticipated concerts in Lisbon.
Tickets had sold out for Monday and Tuesday nights concerts in the 12,000-seat Atlantic Pavillion in the Portuguese capital within hours of going on sale.
Portuguese fans had lobbied for Madonna to make her first ever trip to Portugal organising an Internet petition begging her to visit the country.
But the concerts almost never took place due to a row with the evangelical church about renting the theatre.
'The goddess of pop is among us,' 'At last she is here', and 'The biggest show ever in Portugal' screamed the headlines Monday ahead of the evening date.
Hundreds of Spanish fans are expected to be among the audience on Monday and Tuesday night as Madonna did not play any dates in Spain during the world tour which began back in May in the United States.
The Re-Invention Tour is the first for Madonna since 2001, and also took her to Manchester, London, Dublin and Paris.

Madonna throws low-key party for Guy
Posted: 13 September 2004 - From the Irish Examiner

Superstar Madonna threw a birthday party for her film-maker husband Guy Ritchie at the weekend - in a room at the back of a London pub.
The Material Girl wanted to make sure Ritchie's 36th birthday was one to remember, so she decided to forego glitz and glamour in favour of drinking ale with his friends.
The 46-year-old singer paid £30 to hire the venue in The Punchbowl pub in the British capital's exclusive Mayfair district.
An insider says: 'The party was great fun but not the type of do you'd expect Madonna to organise.'
'She drank ale all night and really let her hair down. She had hired a two-piece Irish band and sang along to all the songs with everyone else.'
'Madonna left by herself just before 1am and she was pretty merry. She could have hired The Ritz and had champagne flowing all night but she knows what Guy likes.'
'Guy said it was the best night out he'd had in ages. He stayed on until 3.30am and was in a right old state, telling all his pals how much he loved them and singing at the top of his voice.'

Madonna respects Quakers' burial right
Posted: 13 September 2004 - From the Daily Telegraph By Richard Savill

The American pop star Madonna has again discovered that owning an English stately home can mean having to share her land with others.
Earlier this year, she and her husband, Guy Ritchie, the film director, successfully challenged the 'right to roam' laws, although ramblers will still be allowed on to parts of their £9 million estate in Wiltshire.
Now she has been obliged to allow Quakers to conduct a funeral on a burial ground in the middle of her 1,132-acre Ashcombe estate, near Tollard Royal.
This time, however, she has made no attempt to end the centuries-old tradition, and instead has respected the Quakers' right of way to the burial ground.
'It is Quaker property and we have a right of way to it which has been established over many years,' said Audrey Acton, the clerk of Shaftesbury Preparative Meeting, the local Quaker group.
'We have a good relationship with Madonna's farm manager and if we need to get to the burial ground we speak to him or the gamekeeper and organise it. We don't have to ask but it is courteous and sensible to maintain good relations with the estate. We want to make sure they are not organising a shooting party on the day of a burial.'
In 1663 the founder of the Society of Friends, George Fox, visited William Fry, the then owner of Ashcombe, who became a Quaker. Because Quakers were being persecuted and could not be buried in consecrated church ground, Fry gave land to be a perpetual burial ground for the society.
The Quakers and the estate consulted before the recent funeral of a 91-year-old member of the local meeting.

Sharp-eyed fans who saw the tour at the beginning will have noticed that physicist Albert Einstein appeared in the Material Girl background video montage. However The Albert Einstein Foundation did not feel it was appropriate for his image to appear so he was removed from the backdrop after the Anaheim shows.
His replacement in the backdrop was another Nobel Prize-winning physicist, Enrico Fermi, who Madonna felt was a suitable substitute for Einstein.

Keyboardists Do It Better
Posted: 11 September 2004 - Thanks to Francesco

The September 2004 issue of Keyboard Magazine features an interview with three of the keyboardists/programmers on Madonna's Re-Invention tour:

The Re-Invention Tour finds the keyboard lineup intact from the last tour: Marcus Brown is the principal keyboardist. Musical director Stuart Price divides his time onstage between playing bass guitar and sculpting synth sounds. Master of Everything Mike McKnight occupies what might be the hottest seat in the touring sphere as the guy who makes it all run and plays supplementary keyboard parts from his sub-stage bunker.

The article finds how they worked with Madonna to produce some of the re-invented sounds we heard on the tour, and the perils of moving stage-machinery!

What do you think gives Madonna the ability to intuit musical decisions so quickly and accurately?
Wiltz: She’s just brilliant.
McKnight: I dunno. She’s always had it.
Brown: 'Holiday' was a good example of that - we’d gotten to the point where she was saying, 'Play something now,' and nobody was playing anything. We were all standing ’round going, 'What in blazes are we gonna do?'
I think I started with the Triton; 'What we need is an arpeggio. Let’s start with something really bleedin’ simple.' I found an arpeggiated patch, spun the wheel through until it said, like, pattern 46. And then I hit B. It did its thing and she went, 'What’s that? What’s that?' I said, 'Uhm, it’s....a thing. A thing I’m working on.' She said, 'It’s great. Let’s start with that.' I think two hours later we had the version.

Re-Invention tour: The sound crew
Posted: 11 September 2004 - Thanks to Francesco

An interesting article on Mixonline.com discusses the work of the principle sound crew on Madonna's Re-Invention tour:

Kevin Pruce, Björk's touring engineer since her days with The Sugarcubes in the late '80s, is helming front of house for Madonna this time around.
'I think it's fair to say Madonna and Björk offer different challenges,' Pruce says. 'So whilst the basics of mixing are the same, the Madonna tour is a big production with many other aspects to consider - dancers, major video and staging moves (including a moving catwalk), et cetera, along with a band and sequencing - whereas Björk uses live strings (a 56-piece orchestra and 16-person choir, as on her Vespertine Tour in 2001) and acoustic instruments such as harps alongside electronics and sequencing.'

Diamonds are a girl's best friend!
Posted: 10 September 2004

At the 04 September Paris show, a fan threw a teddybear on stage to which Madonna replied: Is that all I get....I like diamonds! - well two fans in Arnhem decided to give her the 'diamonds' she asked for in Paris. Here is Berthil and Vincent's story:

I wanted to say I was the one who threw the teddybear onstage at the first show in Arnhem. It was meant to be as a joke, because she said in Paris, after someone threw a teddybear on the stage, that she liked diamonds.
So my friend and I bought a 'diamante-ring' and put it on the teddybear with a card saying : 'Hello Madonna, here is your diamond which you asked for in Paris!'. She didn't look at it but one of her dancers took it backstage!

Boys will be girls, right?!
Posted: 10 September 2004

Madonna played her second of two concerts at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Holland last night. In an 'end-of-term'-like mood, lots of pranks were played on Madonna to celebrate nearly reaching the end of the tour.

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Rob And Roy:
Last night in Arnhem's 2nd show, they did fool around a lot, before The Beast Within started you could hear Madonna say: 'Hi this is Madonna and I want to read you my new book, Mr Peabody's Apples', which was kinda weird.

From Loek:
At this show Monte licked Madonna's guitar and we saw that they had a really good time on stage.

From Berthil:
She interacted more the second night with the audience and it looked like she was having more fun. For Imagine she held a speech for the kids around the world. She also mentioned that she'd knew there were a lot of people from all over the world in the house that night.

From Ralf:
From the grand smirk on her face you could tell she was having a ball. Later she thanked us for such a wonderful welcome after soooo many years of absence and was really happy with that. She introduced Imagine differently from the other shows I saw, talking about 'seeing the world through the eyes of a child', it looked like she wiped a tear away at that moment.

Hilarious was during Papa Don't Preach when two of her male dancers came on stage instead of the usual two female dancers to join the dancing in this song wich, of course, was a joke of the dancers. Madonna look first confused but then laughed, 'Boys will be girls, right?' was her comment.

From Alexander:
She really made me cry with Frozen and off course Nothing Fails....we were standing in in the front! I could not believe she was so close to me....so pretty and fit! Today I am still in a Madonna trance....thanks Maddy!

CBS Madonna concert doesn't materialize
Posted: 10 September 2004 - From Variety

Madonna got out of the groove with CBS, where plans for a concert featuring the Material Girl have been scrapped.
Eye, which announced the special at its upfront presentation in New York last May, had planned to air a Madonna concert from her current 'Reinvention' tour. Taping was scheduled to take place next week in Lisbon, Portugal, for later broadcast on the network. But Madonna and CBS couldn't come to terms and have parted ways.
According to a CBS spokesman, the singer wanted the broadcast to run beyond two hours and commercial-free, similar to concert specials on HBO. The Eye balked at the requests, specifically wanting to keep the broadcast to within a two-hour time frame.
Madonna has previously appeared in three concert specials for HBO: 2001's 'Madonna Live: The Drowned World Tour,' 'Madonna - Live Down Under: The Girlie Show' (1993) and 'Madonna - Live! Blonde Ambition World Tour '90' (1990).

madonnalicious can confirm that advertising issues were the biggest problem in getting the concert broadcast, and CBS were still in discussions right up until the end of August.

Sorry I haven't been here for so long....

Madonna played her first of two concerts last night in Holland at Arnhem's Gelredome.

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From FlyingDutchman:
Later on she said: 'Holland I give you one more chance to make me feel welcome'. After that the crowd went crazy and I heard almost the whole stadium sing to the rest of the songs.

From Ralf:
'Papa Don't Preach' got a huge response as well and I noticed a little sincere emotion when she began 'Imagine', she almost was in tears. The most funny part was during 'Music' when she fluffed her lines during the second verse, making a face and going 'Aaarrgghhh!'

From Etienne:
The visual effects on the big screen which slide all over the stage give this event a extra dimension and once again Madonna is proving that she is the most RE-INVENTIVE entertainer walking on the face of this earth.

From Roy:
During Papa Don't Preach she was wearing her Kabbalists Do It Better shirt. We were really close to the stage, appr. 8 metres. She looked and sounded awesome, the biggest buzz after the show was how strong her voice was. It all went too fast!

From Simon:
Overall, fantastic, loved the stage, but as reported before, you watch one piece of it and miss something else - I need to see it again, and again, and again....

From Isabelle:
The crowd was singing along to so many songs sometimes you could hear the crowd sing above her, they really had a great time and so did Madonna because as she sang Mother And Father she said so. It was a great experience to see her again.

From Marjolein:
One time, someone threw a teddybear at Madonna and she looked at it and pointed in the crowd and said: DON’T THROW SHIT AT ME!
After 'Don’t Tell Me' she waited a while, enjoyed the crowd, and continued with: Don’t you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever tell me to....STOP!
After Papa Don’t Preach she said: 'Hello Arnhem! It's good to be back in Holland. It has been a long time I've not been here. I am sorry for that.'

From Bart:
The show was very, very good! She wore her gold corset during Vogue....it was really perfect. During The Beast Within some of the screens didn't seem to work....but it didn't bother anyone....but I saw the show before in Paris so I noticed.

From Oliver:
All I can say is WOW. The crowd at Gelredome was absolutely GREAT. Before the show started the whole audience made several Mexican waves and they worked pretty good! Madonna was as always in top form.

From Joost:
She seemed to love the Dutch crowd and told everybody she had been away for too much time. All in all an amazing evening.

Madonna inducted into the UK music Hall of Fame
Posted: 09 September 2004 - From BBC Online - thanks to Anna

The Beatles are the only British act among the founding inductees into the UK Music Hall of Fame, alongside Elvis Presley, Madonna, U2 and Bob Marley.
The hall, launched on Thursday ahead of a Channel 4 series this autumn, is for artists who have made the greatest contribution to 'UK music culture'.
Producers say it is 'nothing to do with the geography or the moment in time'.
The artists were chosen by a panel including Sir George Martin, Trevor Nelson and Paul Gambaccini.
Malcolm Gerrie, head of production company Initial, told BBC News Online: 'It's to do with fantastic music that will be there forever and the impact and resonance they've had.'
The panel also included Blur bassist Alex James, former Eurythmics star Dave Stewart, Manchester legend Tony Wilson and Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis.
Five two-hour Channel 4 shows will give viewers the chance to vote for further inductees.
Each programme will focus on one decade, with fans given the choice of 10 acts from that decade to vote for.

Well-suited
Posted: 08 September 2004 - From People magazine - thanks to Slyguy

Dressing Madonna for her famously theatrical concerts is no small feat – but Stella McCartney proved to be up to the task recently, designing the menswear-style pinstriped pants and vest Madge wore on her most recent tour.
Madonna, 46, even visited the designer's store the week before her recent outdoor show in Ireland to get a jacket to go with the outfit. 'We already have her measurements, so it was just a matter of doing it,' says a tailor in McCartney's bespoke shop. 'We had all the measurements from Stella's wedding, (in) which Madonna was a bridesmaid.'

Madonna pop-art portrait stolen
Posted: 08 September 2004 - From the San Francisco Examiner
Thanks to Jeremy and Jonathan

A thief seems to have stopped by a Starbucks coffee shop in the Castro and picked up a $5,000 pop-art painting to go, swiping an acrylic image of Madonna off the wall.
The painting's artist says that the 3-foot-square depiction of the iconic pop star, part of the Superstar Collection showing at the Starbucks on the 400 block of 18th Street, disappeared sometime between 2 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. It featured a black-and-white image of Madonna set against a background of colored Louis Vuitton logos.
The artist, Tim Gaskin, said the piece may well have been quietly removed from the coffeehouse in front of up to 100 patrons, and nobody noticed it was gone until early Monday morning.
'It's horrible, because I spent so much time on it,' said Gaskin, who is best known for his renditions of District Attorney Kamala Harris and Kimberley Guilfoyle-Newsom, which grace the Hearts of San Francisco exhibition outside City Hall.

The artist Tim Gaskin has contacted madonnalicious to provide information on a reward and Police department details to hopefully aid in the recovery of his painting - to read this information click here or you can visit the artist's website here.

More on Radio ZET promotional advert
Posted: 07 September 2004 - From the Warsaw Journal and Marcin at www.madonnaonline.prv.pl

On September 13th Radio ZET will launch a huge advertising campaign starring pop singer Madonna. The campaign took 10 months to put together and will be the first one in history to use the most popular scenes from Madonna's legendary videos: Vogue, Material Girl, Frozen, Hollywood etc. 'We managed to do the impossible,' said Radio ZET's president Robert Kozyra. Madonna's partner in the commercials will be famous actor Zbigniew Zamachowski.

A promotional advert is currently running on the station with this voiceover:

The world's showbusiness brightest star. She sold 250,000,000 albums worldwide. She earns over 44,000,000 per year. So she had 100,000,000 reasons not to do it. But she did it. Especially for Radio ZET - Madonna. Next week Poland's going to see how Madonna is related to Radio ZET.

Madonna tribute to Russian hostages
Posted: 07 September 2004 - From the Press Association

Pop star Madonna drew massive applause from a sold-out crowd in Paris when she dedicated her version of John Lennon's peace ode Imagine to the Russian hostage crisis.
Addressing the audience midway through her show last night, Madonna spoke briefly about the tragedy at a Russian school that left at least 350 dead, including pupils, teachers and mothers.
As video images of war and children were broadcast behind her on giant screens, the pop diva urged her fans at Paris' Bercy stadium to think about what happened in Russia and to think about Lennon's lyrics.

Oooh-Oooh!
Posted: 06 September 2004

Madonna played her fourth and final concert in Paris last night at Bercy. The crowd were very energetic and it seemed as though the whole audience were on their feet!

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Clare:
During Madonna and Monte's guitar solos in Burning Up - Madonna has now started to lick Monte's hand and guitar during his solo....but it always makes her laugh too much when she does it!

The 'oooh-ooohs' that the audience started in the UK have traveled over to Paris - the audience were chanting this in time with the introduction to Holiday and Madonna finally acknowledged this when the screens closed as the show finished....she 'oooh-ooohed' back at us and then said 'Goodnight!'. I think she had a great show last night....I know the audience did!

From Transcendent:
We traveled from Berlin to Paris only because of Madonna. It was expensive and exhausting but it was so worth it. When she performed Frozen, she sang 'mmmmm, give yourself to me', but at that moment she already had us all.

From Julien:
I was yesterday in Paris Bercy for the last show and it was the most amazing show I had ever seen! She was so beautiful and her voice so pure! The beginning of the show with The Beast Within is fabulous and so weird!

Just before singing Imagine, she made reference to that awful school hostage thing in Russia and it was so emotional!

From Nadia:
She said in French: 'It's my last night in Paris, I am sad, and you? Should I stay here forever? (everybody shouted YEAH!) and then she said laughing 'OK!' I found that she was giving more of herself, like she wanted to give everything for the last Paris show.

Is this all I get? I like diamonds!
Posted: 06 September 2004

Madonna played her third concert in Paris on Saturday night at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy Arena and seemed to be having a great time. The documentary crew were filming concert footage last night, and because of this Madonna had some extra air conditioning in the form of an electric fan front of stage - which kept her hair off her face and looking great!

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from Saturday - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Clare:
Towards the beginning of the show Madonna yelled out....'Are you ready to open your heart to me?'....the audience replied with an enormous cheer.

At the end of the Mother And Father rap where Madonna says 'A victim of a kind of rage' she roared out the ward 'rage' and because it sounded so much like a roar she turned to her band and did a little playful roar and giggled!

From Veronique:
I also noticed that the big square box on stage (for the bass or the sound to comes out) on wich it is usually written 'Marshall' on had been modified, it had 'Madonna' written on it instead!

From Remco:
At one point a teddy bear was thrown onto the stage: 'Is this all I get? I like diamonds!'. This remark was 'bumped' by the drummer (like on Letterman), causing her to smile.
She seemed to have lost the words to the second verse of Music, but pointing the mic to the crowd always helps....and she got back on track after a few words.

From Nicholas And Justin:
'Don't Tell Me' ends in a different way this time! 'Don't ever tell me what to say, what to do, what to think, what to fell, don't ever tell me to stop!'

At the end of Papa Don't Preach she said 'I see there is a lot of people from other countries. Italy, Argentina,Austalia, Spain and a lot more. Thanks for coming here to be with me. This is the proof that music really makes the people come together. I wish it wouldn't happen only in a rock concert! Well this not a rock concert!

From Paul M:
Madonna seemed to be in a playful mood with the large gay contingent of the crowd giving a little smile as she said hello to 'gay' paris, and opening Express Yourself with 'C'mon boys....'

Who wanted this f*cking war anyway?
Posted: 03 September 2004

Madonna played her second concert in Paris last night at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy Arena and reports seem to suggest that the crowd were even wilder than the first night!

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Greg:
Madonna gave another fantastic show on her second date in Paris. The show is so much FUN! Madonna was flawless tonight and her voice was even better than yesterday - very strong and clear on 'Lament', 'Mother and Father' etc. She looks great; she wore the same costumes as yesterday: the violet corset and 'Kabbalists Do It Better' t-shirt.

From Antoine:
What a great show....Madonna was in great mood her voice sounded so clear and powerful and very emotional when singing Lament. She asked the audience to help her singing Material Girl which we did for most of the song. This new rock version was great!

From Yuri:
Vive la France! This is Madonna's declaration of love to France. Last night before singing Crazy For You which she dedicated to all her fans, she thanked France for being loyal to her music all those years. A world class show! The sold out Bercy was captivated by Madonna's spectacle.

From Jeyan:
During her speech, she thanked French people for their great support. She said 'when my American Life album came out last year - or whenever it was she added - it was found unamerican in US and many radio stations even did not play it. But in France, you supported it. I think I have sold more American Life records here than anywhere else in the world'. The response from the crowd was very strong, they cheered back heavily.

From Harry:
Madonna's speech at the end of American Life about how the U.S. considered her album un-American and the fact that the album sold the most in France. She thanked the audience and the fans for this, which of course got a big roar of approval. She ended the speech by saying: 'Who wanted this f*cking war anyway?' to loud applause from all that attended the show.

From Neil:
At the start of Vogue she looked up at the crowd and had the BIGGEST grin I've seen in the 8 shows I've been to....and it just got better. We were front row but had to move back a couple, it was just WAY hot and the mosh pit was pandemonium during Nobody Knows Me!

A few cock ups, she forgot the 2nd verse to Music and in the end just held her mic out whilst in hystrerics, and she saw a banner that said 'MADONNA ITS BRITNEY KISS ME' during Crazy For You and completely lost her position laughing.

The funniest bit though was during Dont Tell Me....she was enjoying the crowd singing Nothing Fails so much she wandered away from her stand, leaving the mic in its stand, before having to run back and get it as she was supposed to sing the opening line....again, hysterical laughter and all M could say was a playful 'Whoopsee!'. CLASSIC!

Beer Named After Pop Diva Madonna
Posted: 03 September 2004 - From ananova.com - thanks to Anna :)

Madonna has had a beer named after her in honour of the pop diva's return to Manchester. Bottled beer called Material Girl Ale have been brewed to mark the singer's visit to the northern city after a 10-year break. A crate was delivered to the superstar backstage during her Re-Invention tour. It is not known whether Madonna, who enjoys a pint of Guinness, slurped the 7.5% alcohol strength beer.
The beer is brewed by local firm JW Lees. Bottles are labelled with a similar design to that of Madonna's Immaculate Collection greatest hits album. JW Lees, which makes its own brand of bitter, has now released a further 300 bottles of the tipple to meet demand from fans. A spokesperson for JW Lees was quoted in The Sun as saying: 'She played the Hacienda in 1994 and we thought that it would be a good way to mark her first gig back in Manchester. We know she likes an ale and thought this one was a little bit special.'

I'll have to speak to your President about that!
Posted: 02 September 2004

Madonna played her first concert in Paris last night at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy Arena and the original Kabbalists Do It Better t-shirt was back, as was the original Parisian backdrop for Don't Tell Me.

Here are some madonnalicious visitors tour highlights from last night - to read the full reports visit the fan reviews section:

From Julien:
As a fan I must say it was more than I could have ever wished....I had a 3rd category seat (for 100 euros), and the crowd was so reactive, even during songs from the Amercan Life album....hey french fans do it better! ;)

From Greg:
Madonna seemed to be in an excellent mood for her first show in Paris. She smiled a lot and talked frequently, mostly in English but also a few words in French. At one point she asked if it was true 'that you can smoke in here, but not bring in a bottle of Red Bull? That's not right, I'll have to speak to your President about that!'
Madonna asked the crowd to help her sing 'Material Girl', and only sung a few words of the first two verses! Surprisingly, given that it most a mostly French audience, there were enough people singing that you could hear it.
On one of the verses of 'Imagine', she started a wrong line, quickly realised it and quickly spoke the right line with a smile; it wasn't smooth but got a good reaction from the crowd.

From Eric:
Amazing! Her voice was so clear and beautiful! I was so excited....I found the new version of Material Girl very good, it rocked! I couldn't help crying during Mother and Father, because she sang it with a certain emotion and maybe because I had the same story....and to see the picture of her mother on the screen....

From Nadia:
Madonna was so close, she was amazing, beautiful, powerful, singing and dancing so well (better that what I expected in fact) and from the pit everyone has at least a moment with her, I had her singing 'Don't Tell Me' over me and looking at me.

From Nicholas:
The best part of the show comes along with Nothing Fails when the crowd is really with her! The Paris background during Don't Tell Me is back! I was so worried we'd have London Bridge! But thank God we got the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame back on stage! Holiday ends with Isrealian and Palestinian flags both together for a Re-invented future!

Thanks to Fabrice for the pictures below from inside Bercy Arena last night.
