Madonna snubbed by Parky
Posted: 23 February 2003

More tabloid news from The People:
Michael Parkinson has turned down the chance to interview Madonna - because she once snubbed him. He says he can't be bothered to talk to her on his chat show this spring.
A BBC insider said : 'Madonna may be one of the biggest names in pop but Michael doesn't pay second fiddle to anyone. She had her chance to be on his show in 2000 but cancelled at the last minute. Producers were very annoyed - and so was Michael. She won't get a second chance.'
Madonna is likely to do an interview with Johnathan Ross instead. 'They are close to a deal.' said the source.

How Mr Big turned down Madonna
Posted: 15 February 2003

Actor Chris Noth (Mr Big from Sex and the City) turned down the opportunity to play Madonna's husband on the London stage in Up For Grabs last year.
Here is what he had to say in OK! magazine:
There was interest for me to play her husband, but the part didn't interest me.
I would have loved to work with Madonna, don't get me wrong, but the part just didn't appeal. The play read alright, but it just didn't pop out at me.

Theatre Event Of The Year - Acceptance Speech
Posted: 12 February 2003

While it was Madonna who won the Theatre Event Of The Year for making her West End debut in Up For Grabs in the Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers' Choice Awards, it was the producer of the play, Sonia Friedman who accepted the award on Madonna's behalf.

'Everybody who saw and experienced this event knows we created an extraordinary piece of theatre, which was shared by audience and actors alike. The electricity and sense of anticipation from the audience before the show, the enjoyment during, and the euphoria at the end proves that this was the Planet Hollywood Theatre Event of the Year. Thank you.'

Madonna puts the heat on heat magazine
Posted: 05 February 2003

Following the Exclusive - Madonna is pregnant story published in the 08-14 February 2003 issue of heat magazine, Madonna has filed a complaint with the Press Complaints Commission.

Below is a picture of the front cover story BUT on an interesting note, the TV advert to accompany this issue features the same front cover but they have changed the story title to IS Madonna Pregnant? - maybe they are having second thoughts.

From Associated Press:
Madonna has complained to Britain's press watchdog about a magazine article claiming she was pregnant, the Press Complaints Commission said Wednesday.
A commission spokeswoman said the performer had contacted the body to say that a report in celebrity magazine Heat was 'inaccurate.'
Heat reported in its latest issue that Madonna, 44, had visited a birth specialist in London at the end of last year.
Madonna's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, was quoted by the British Broadcasting Corp. as saying there was no truth in the report.
'It's not true, it's not accurate. She dyed her hair brown instead of blonde — that does not confirm somebody's pregnant,' Rosenberg said.
The commission said it would contact the magazine in an attempt to settle the matter. If no agreement is reached, the commission could rule that the magazine had breached Britain's press conduct code, although it has no power to fine offenders.
Heat declined to comment Wednesday.

Same rumour, different tracksuit
Posted: 05 February 2003

Here is the latest picture of Madonna cycling around Los Angeles again, taken on Monday.
This picture accompanied an article by the Daily Mirror's 3am Girls, in which they discuss the pregnancy rumours.
It's one of our favourite games. Madonna is denying rumours she is pregnant which can only mean one thing - she's up the duff.
3am were told yesterday by her spokeswoman that the singer was '150 per cent NOT pregnant.'
However, if we look back to other main events in the Queen of Pop's life, we'll see that both her previous pregnancies were met with a denial before her aides admitted the truth.

Is Madonna expecting....again?!
Posted: 04 February 2003

Tonight's Evening Standard newspaper features Madonna on it's front cover, while reporting the rumour published in heat magazine, that the reason Madonna may have gone back to the USA because she is expecting another baby.

Madonna is four months pregnant with her third child according to a celebrity magazine today.
Heat says the singer has moved to Los Angeles, where she feels the maternity facilities are better.
Rumours have been flying for weeks and the magazine claims Madonna has consulted a birth specialist.
The star's publicist today strongly denied the reports. A spokeman for Heat said this afternoon: 'We stand by our story regardless of what Madonna's publicists say.'

It looks like this rumour is going to rumble on again....

Sing-A-Long-Evita
Posted: 02 February 2003

The National Film Theatre in London are screening a special singalong version of Evita on 30 March 2003, during their Alan Parker season.
Several years ago Alan Parker was highly supportive of the British Film Institute in the face of criticism from a few selected quarters for it's staging if the singalong version of The Sound Of Music for the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (which proved to be the hit of the festival).
He said he would be delighted to see a similar staging of his film musical Evita, and has now proved true to his word. So come along and sing your heart out to 'Don't Cry For Me Argentina', 'Oh What A Circus', 'Another Suitcase In Another Hall' and other snappy Lloyd Webber-Rice tunes.

Tickets go on sale to the public from Friday 21 February 2003 (NFT members can priority order via post from 12 February).

Madonnalicious will provide booking details nearer the public sale date, or you can visit the National Film Theatre website to check when they are available online.
