Norwegian Press: Almost 50 - and fashion icon Posted: 24 December 2005 - From VG - translation thanks to Marcus
Madonna has left the mysticism and has been reborn as a dancing queen. With her new looks and style, the 47-year old is back as a fashion-icon for fourteen year olds as well as fourty year olds.
Doesn't it seem desperate of a 47 year old woman to appear as a teenager?
Madonna passes as the ultimate fashion-cameleon and has changed her style from being platinumblond in the 80's via Dominatrix, New Age and british nobility in the decades that followed.
In an interview with British TV personality Michael Parkinson, recently shown on TV, Madonna talked about her children, the daughter Lourdes (9) and Rocco (5), which are not allowed to watch TV. And they have to clean up after themselves. Lourdes corrects her mother for her provocative style in clothing, Madonna admits in an interview with British Radio 1.
Madonna lives out the dream american women have about the british upper classes, thinks Lisy de Rohan Birkeland.
Doesn't she lose credibilty from all the image changes?
That's Jan Walaker, editor in art and lifestyle magazine Hot Rod, completely agreeing with.
Madonna has always been a big star in the gay community. When VG earlier this fall asked if this had anything to do with them looking on her as a glamourous diva, Madonna answered:

Vote Madonna! Posted: 08 December 2005 - Thanks to Didier
Madonna will probably sing her new single 'Sorry' at the NRJ Awards at the end of January in France but she needs your support at those awards:
Vote for her on nrjmusicawards.nrj.fr in the category of 'Best International Female Of The Year' where the competition is particularly hard (and it seems that you can vote as much as you want!).
Also do not forget to vote on www.virgin.net where Madonna has lost some ground these last few days (see 'Best Single', 'Best Album' and 'Best Solo Artist' categories).

Japanese press conference transcript Posted: 08 December 2005 - From Japan Today By Toshiya Fujii - thanks to Dan
Madonna is back in Japan for the first time in 12 years to promote her new album 'Confessions On A Dance Floor.' The album is already a big hit around the globe and has taken over the #1 spot in charts in 28 countries, including Japan.
What is the concept for the album?
Why is it a glittery disco?
There is a noticeable European influence on this album. What were the inspirations?
Do you think about fans when making music? Or do you just do as you want?
There is a rumor that your husband, Guy Ritchie, walked out of the room when he heard the single 'Hung up.'
There is the line 'Gomennasai' (sorry) in the song. Why did you pick Japanese? Are you interested in Japanese or Asian cultures?
It's been a very long while since you last came to Japan, 12 years. What makes you feel you are back in Japan?
I've missed the heated toilet seats.
What are some things you want to do during your stay in Japan?
Have you eaten Japanese food?
If there ever will be any star like you to come in future, it would be your daughter without a doubt. Do you have any plans for your daughter?
I don't need to teach my daughter how to be a superstar; she's already acting like one. My daughter loves to dance. She studies classic ballet. You could say she's a diva already. She doesn't say to me she wants to be a singer. She tells me she wants to be an actress and ballerina. I encourage her to do those things as long as she takes it seriously and works hard and has a lot of discipline.
Is there anything you keep in mind or a certain way to act toward your children to keep them in the right direction?
Are you planning any movie-related work?
Are you planning any tours in near future?
Any last words for your fans in Japan?
Madonna in George Michael's documentary Posted: 08 December 2005 - Thanks to John
George Michael's documentary film A Different Story takes a look at his career to date, and it also features Madonna in one memorable scene.
It is a clip from the MTV Video Music Awards in 1989, in which a theatrically-smoking Madonna introduces George Michael by saying she 'wants his sex' and would like him as her 'Father Figure' before showing tremendous insight by hailing him as a 'true diva'.
The film is released at selected British cinemas from Friday 9 December.

First report from Tokyo show Posted: 07 December 2005
madonnalicious visitor Dan has sent in the first report from Madonna's concert at the Studio Coast club in Tokyo tonight:
Madonna hit Tokyo tonight and the city was buzzing. Around a thousand contestant winners waited to get inside the utlra modern Studio Coast complex situated right on Tokyo Bay.
Featuring state of the art sound and light systems this seems to be the kind of place Madonna is gearing to for her next tour. The place was packed with the Japanese A-list - not to mention fans starved of their idol for 12 years.
The place erupted as madonna emerged form behind a video screen for Hung Up wearing her purple leotard and pedal pushers. After Hung Up she said she was 'so fucking happy' to be back in Tokyo and she had missed her Japanese friends.
I have been a Madonna fan for 14 years an this is the first time I have seen her in the flesh. I was literally a metre away. She looked so young and well - everything and more that you would expect. She made eye contact, pointed and smiled at me twice during the show - I guess my English face stuck out amongst all of the Japanese faces!
A funny part of the show was before I Love New York. A fan had a sign reading - 'Your majesty - If you dont like my country then f*ck off!'. Madonna assured us she loved Tokyo and after I Love New York took the sign from the fan and ripped it up.
She had just as fun a time as we did. She was Madonna. She was awesome.
